I think Dabol might be a real possibility but I do really believe that Saban wants Kelly for 1 year. There is smoke so I think that talks are in progress. That is probably why we aren't really hearing anything. I personally want a pro style guy that loves his running backs but Kelly might set records with Jalen.

Dabol coaches receivers for Belichik, right? He gets more mileage out of those white boy receivers they've got than should be humanly possible.

Soooo, we just gonna gloss over the fact they have possibly the best QB of all time throwing to them?

Dude must be able to coach pretty well.

I'm agree with you here. Belichick doesn't hire (or keep around) guys who can't coach well.

Dabol has an elite reputation for coaching receivers. Everyone in New England credits him for the great receiving play in the early 2000s and the great play the last 3 years. I've read it multiple places.

I'm starting to feel better about Dabol.

Well if he is the guy that will fill the WR coach slot and OC. Who are we going to hire as the QB coach?

Article I posted a couple pages back says Daboll is also well regarded as a QB developer & coach.

Jedd Fisch is a name mentioned by Bruce Feldman as well.

Fisch was recently hired as OC/QBs at UCLA. Had been with Michigan as QBs/PGC. Has NFL and college football OC experience. Played at Florida.

These OC hires generally have a connection to Saban. The only one I see is Fisch serving as QB coach with the Seahawks in 2010 under Pete Carroll. Saban has obviously like some of Carroll's previous offensive assistants.

Edit: Looks like the connection is Dom Capers. Who was an assistant at Kent State when Saban played there. And Capers was later an assistant with Saban at Ohio State. As well as Saban's DC with the Dolphins.

Fisch was an assistant under Capers with the Houston Texans.

Maybe. But as it stands now we don't have a QB coach.

Daboll been the TE Coach since he returned to New England.

Chad O'Shea has been their WR Coach since 2009...

My sources have spoken, Saban is bringing in an expert search team.

We can relax. If these people can find Bigfoot, you know they can get us a coach.

Maybe due to only 1-2 years Co-OC at Tulsa, 1 year OC at Texas, no NFL experience and limited to air raid expertise, as compared to guys like Daboll & Godsey. So, seems like he's not as good of a fit with Saban's offensive philosopy.
