The Alabama gymnastics team is set to make its second consecutive, and 40th overall, appearance at the NCAA Gymnastics Championships. The Crimson Tide will be the only team not ranked in the top eight competing during the semifinals – an eight-team field featuring five programs from the Southeastern Conference.
Hosted by Knight Eady and Texas Woman's University, the championships will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The two semifinals will take place Thursday, April 17. Semifinal I includes Alabama, Florida, Missouri and Oklahoma, and will start at 3:30 p.m. CT. Session II, featuring LSU, Michigan State, UCLA and Utah, will begin at 8 p.m., with both semifinals airing live on ESPN2. The top-two teams from each semifinal will advance to the final day for a chance at winning the national title.

It's so pathetic the NCAA has decided to just keep the gymnastics championship in Ft. Worth year in and year out instead of rotating it like they did for decades.

Like many things dont they open it for bids like the SEC baseball tournament?

When they moved to the 8 team format finals, the NCAA wanted to make Ft. Worth what softball and baseball had with OKC and Omaha
Sucks. I want Nationals in Tuscaloosa again!

It's so dumb. There is ONE school that sponsors women's gymnastics in Texas... Texas Woman's College and they average less than 300 fans per meet. They need to go back to the old days: six regionals with the top two advancing, 12 team semi finals that rotates, and Super Six finals

Oklahoma and Missouri advance to finals. Not gonna lie, this was a disappointing season.
Oklahoma: 197.5500
Missouri: 197.3000
Florida: 197.2000
Alabama: 196.8250

Maybe. But with how it started finished in the final 8 is pretty impressive.

made final 8 last year too best I can recall. Just scanning the scores we had the worst scores. OU and Mizz are in the final 4 from the SEC. Who wants to kick mizz out now. Joking of course.

Was hoping for a better showing but the score was pretty much par for the course this season. When Lilly gets two of the lowest scores (vault and bars), you know it’s not your night. Congrats for getting this far. Lots of work to do for next year.
Of note: UCLA and Utah advance from the late session. No Florida, no LSU in the finals.

In all, 83 Alabama gymnasts have combined to earn 416 All-America honors. That total includes Championship All-America honors as well as Regular Season All-America recognition, which began in 2013.
