Me of little faith. Never thought I’d see this squad come this close to putting it all together. So close to overtaking the Gators too. Wish more people had been there to see it but with the weather and the expectations, it’s not too surprising. Awesome way to go out at home. Simply incredible.

Me, too, especially after the first rotation on vault. They started out with all those hops and missteps on their landings. They started out third after that. If not for that, they could've/would've edged out Florida for the overall win and #1 spot. Hoping they get these things corrected for the championship. And, Coach, please make sure all apparatuses are checked for problems or issues before starting events. I will never forget the disaster on the beam for Alabama and vault for Oklahoma last year.

Alabama actually has a decent chance to better their final finish from last year so long as they avoid a second beam fiasco.
This would maintain Ashley Johnston's overall upward trajectory since taking over. (2023: 10th 2024: 8th 2025:tba) Something that seemed like fantasy just weeks ago.

After two rotations in the Tuscaloosa Regional Final, the Alabama gymnastics team sat in third place, trailing by 0.025 points. From there, the Crimson Tide steamrolled through the rest of the quad meet, posting consecutive meet-high scores on the balance beam (49.500, season high) and the floor exercise (49.525) to claim a coveted top-two regional finish and punch its second consecutive ticket to the NCAA Championships Semifinals.
The Florida Gators edged the Tide with a 197.700 and will also advance to the national semifinals. Cal finished third (197.575), while Oregon State took fourth (196.875) to round out the regional final.
Alabama had a gymnast claim a share of the highest individual finish on each apparatus, as Corinne Bunagan secured her second straight 9.900 of the Tuscaloosa Regional on vault and Chloe LaCoursiere tied her career high of 9.950 on bars. The UA All-American duo of Gabby Gladieux and Lilly Hudson both secured a 9.950 during the final two rotations, as Gladieux tied her career high on balance beam and Hudson, performing her final routine inside Coleman Coliseum, earned her seventh 9.950-or-higher score of the season on floor.
Head Coach Ashley Johnston Said
"First of all, I am just so proud of this group for qualifying to the Elite Eight. This has been a huge goal in front of us and week after week, we have talked about never losing the hope, belief or confidence that this team can do it. No matter what anybody on the outside was telling us, they continued to work relentlessly to figure out any, and all, ways to get better and find our edge. I have to say it was our culture – what they've created together and the connection within each person, and their own connection to the mission that I really believe was what drove us to come out on the side that we wanted to be on. It was in the floor corral, Lilly pulled everybody together and they locked in and said, 'take a deep breath'. For me as a coach, watching that from a distance and seeing that this team has the maturity, the skill set and the trust in each other to really come together in the hardest, most challenging moment and find a way to thrive – that is what Alabama gymnastics is all about. I'm so incredibly proud to see that play out in what was such a tough moment and to see them come out with such a huge win".

Looking like 198+ is going to be required to really push for the national title.

Looks like we’re grouped with Florida, Oklahoma and Missouri

Easily.
Fortunately for Bama.... they're trending up, posting season highs and peaking right now, so a a high 197 next meet to possibly advance further, and then 198 in two meets isn't unrealistic.
But more importantly, we're now deeper into the Bracket than anyone predicted, so pretty much anything they do is now just extra gravy. The season is already a success.
Hopefully a complete lack of pressure allows the Tide to just blossom.

Hard to see but Bama is in the early session on the 17th. Saw another post indicating they will start on vault (if so, then it should be the same rotation as yesterday: vault, bars, beam, floor)

A near season full of losses and setbacks all gave way on one night of emotions.
