From the live stats for Gymnastics tonight:
Alabama 197.050
Michigan 196.675
As usual, had a few low scores on floor and beam that had to count but got the W! Hope this score gets them in to compete in the SEC tournament, as well as the regionals. Not sure how all that works. RTR!

They got into the SEC tournament last night after Arkansas won the race for last place (it was by a whisker). This score today was huge for NQS.

Today at 2:30 - a big score can still help with post-season seeding

Do the top 4 compete tomorrow. That score is fairly low so we got to hope someone really flops in session 2

The top 4 compete tonight at 7:00pm. Bama won the first session, but sadly, it is doubtful their score will be enough to win the championship. They had some missteps but not as badly today. The judges did not score very high. Bama had a few 9.9 and maybe one 9.925. It will be interesting to see scores from Session II. I think Session II will be televised on the SEC network, as Session I was.

so today is it. They dont take the top 4 and have a meet tomorrow. I think it will take a 198 to win the SEC.

I think today is it for the SEC Championship. I have noticed the judges are handing out the Session 2 competitors higher scores, maybe deserved, maybe not. I don't remember these teams getting such high scores during the regular season, but I didn't keep up with them every week either. Regardless, they are definitely not consistent across the board. Florida has a 10 and several others have high 9's.

Bama is now in 12th place in NQS (.05 out of being in the top 10). This puts them in 7th place in the SEC.
One less bobble. One less hop. One less step out of bounds.
Regionals run April 2-6 (the Tuscaloosa regional shows as starting April 3rd).

For those interested, LSU won the SEC Championship last night. Results from Session II:
LSU: 198.200
OK: 197.925
FL: 197.825
MO: 197.400
Just a note of interest.... the judges gave out 4 or 5 tens to this group.

what is the date for the regionals? I may take my daughter down to it since she loved the meet in Huntsville a couple weeks ago

From RollTide.com
The Alabama gymnastics team watched Monday's NCAA Selection Show already knowing where it would be competing, as Tuscaloosa was previously announced as a regional host site (April 3-6) for the 17th time. The only thing missing were the opponents as the NCAA announced Florida, California, Oregon State, Clemson, Iowa, North Carolina, NC State and Rutgers would join the Crimson Tide at the regional.
Clemson and Rutgers will compete on Thursday, April 3 starting at 2 p.m. CT, for the opportunity to be in the second of two four-team sessions on Friday, April 4.
The first session on Friday, which gets underway way at 1 p.m., will feature Alabama, Cal, Iowa and North Carolina. The second session on Friday, staring at 7 p.m., will feature Florida, NC State, Oregon State and the winner of Thursday's Clemson and Rutgers match up.
Following a recovery day on Saturday, April 5, the top-two teams from each of Friday's sessions will meet for the regional final on Sunday, April 6, at 5 p.m., with the top-two teams advancing to the national championships.
Individual all-around and event specialists from Ball State, Central Michigan, Clemson, New Hampshire, Northern Illinois, Rutgers, Southeast Missouri State and Western Michigan will also compete for a chance to advance to nationals.
