I saw a tweet about Luisa.
On the last routine of the last rotation, Alabama's Luisa Blanco had a chance to repeat what she did last season when she clinched the Crimson Tide's 2021 SEC championship with a 9.95. However, she fell off the balance beam and landed awkwardly, leaving her unable to finish. She was carried to the locker room.
"We're going to just hope and pray that Luisa is OK," said Duckworth. "I don't have an update of where we are with that."

Luisa took a bad fall on the dismount from a beautiful beam routine. It looked like she lost her balance and sat down and then stood up. They showed another brief shot of her a few seconds later and she was sitting down with trainers looking at her leg. They cut away and didn’t come back. I hope that wasn’t it - but even if it wasn’t her, I’m not sure she’ll be ready for post season.

Alabama Gymnastics Finishes Strong, Takes Second at SEC Tournament

quote:
There wasn’t much to celebrate at the end of the meet as the Crimson Tide’s Luisa Blanco landed awkwardly on her balance beam dismount, and injured her ankle.
She sat on the mat for more than 10 minutes as the UA staff attended to her. Blanco, who scored a 39.050 in the all-around, was then carried off the floor.
"I'm not sure yet," Duckworth said on the status of Blanco. "We will have to wait and see."

going to take 198 plus to win the entire thing. We came up just short of that number where UF got 198.2

Our girls done a fantastic job competing and they probably would have won it at the end but prayers up for our young lady!

A Key Alabama Gymnast Suffered a Foot Injury at SECs
One season ago Alabama gymnast, Luisa Blanco, anchored the beam lineup at the Southeastern Conference Championship. With a score of 9.950, Banco clinched the win over the LSU Tigers.
Coming into the weekend, Alabama hoped to have a repeat performance. This year's SEC Championship had a heartbreaking ending, however.
It was like deja vu as Blanco mounted the balance beam, anchoring the final rotation. She performed like she had ice in her veins as usual. Blanco hit every tumbling pass and leap series. The only thing left was the dismount.
Blanco looked to twist her ankle on the landing and immediately fell to the floor. The whole arena went silent. Head Coach Dana Duckworth and the Alabama trainers immediately ran to her. Blanco stayed on the mat for awhile. Bama fans were holding their breath waiting to see if she'd be okay.
After about 10 minutes, one of the trainers carried her to the locker room. The crowd gave her a standing ovation. Blanco did not go on stage for awards. Duckworth said she asked Blanco if she wanted to sit down while the rest of the team was on stage for awards but she declined.
"She said 'no I wanna hug my girls,' so here she is in pain and hurting, but she still wants to be there for her girls," Duckworth said.
Alabama fans hope Blanco will be okay because her performances are normally the most consistent. With post-season coming up fast, Tide fans can only hope Blanco's injury is minor.
While Alabama has many veterans on the team and a lot of depth, Blanco was a key piece in their success this year. She was a consistent all-arounder and a reliable gymnast. The team knew what they were getting for the most part when Blanco took the floor. Not only is Blanco a consistent and beautiful gymnast, but she embodies the heart of this Alabama gymnastics team.
"She is an example of fierce grace," Duckworth said. "She puts it out there everyday. She gives everything she has in every single performance, every meet, every week, every routine."
Hopefully Blanco is able to recover and compete in Regionals which start March 31 and go through April 2.

Within seven minutes, the plane dropped 18000 feet in altitude over seven minutes, which is around 43 feet per second.

Dana Duckworth Provides Injury Updates on Luisa Blanco
The 2021 SEC Gymnast of the Year suffered an ankle injury at this year's SEC Championship meet.
The 2021 SEC Gymnast of the Year suffered an ankle injury at this year's SEC Championship meet.
quote:
"Luisa is doing better," Duckworth said. "Her mobility is a lot better. We expect to use her on bars this weekend. And again, we're not rushing, and it's really all about how she recovers. We did have 17 hours of travel, so she did have the ankles swell somewhat. But after great medical care and getting off our feet and such, I think she's doing a good job."
"Obviously if Luisa is only doing bars, she has been contributing on those three other events," Duckworth said. "And we're very blessed to have Shania [Adams], Mati [Waligora] and Griffin [James] right there to step in on a variety of events. And so we will warm up everyone tomorrow, and we will make the best decision with hopefully the least amount of change."

Hmmmm….Delta has a program that hires graduates from Auburn into the company after they graduate. There has been a lot of issues with Delta ever since. Maybe Delta should look into a different school to find their "talent"
