Proctor starts because he’s a very good player.

Is the USF game the last one you watched?

Proctor gave up 2 sacks in 305 pass block situations this past year. He gave up 13 total pressures (sacks + hits + hurries) the whole season. That was better than Will Campbell, Micah Pettus, Earnest Green, Xavier Truss, etc.

He wasn't Kelvin Banks or anything but he sure as hell wasn't bad.

Formby got annihilated against USF (5 pressures - 1 sack, 1 hit, 3 hurries). He gave up a grand total of 2 hurries the entire rest of the season (0 hits, 0 sacks) in 95 opportunities.

Anyone that thinks Proctor isn’t starting next year needs their head examined.

Cuevas was the backup TE-H last year.

I wouldn’t count out the new walk-on. He started out as Qb. Then moved linebacker and then tight end. Here's a good article on him with comments from his high school coach, who told him not to pass-up the offer.

While Alabama may have not been a scholarship opportunity, Knudson saw his best chance to get on the field with the departure of both CJ Dippre and Robbie Ouzts as graduating seniors, and Ty Lockwood to the transfer portal.
