Good eye.

My clicker has three buttons (but my garage only has two doors = OT poser).

Apparently Kirby was working the room at the party, and Reuben and Evans hung out all night.

So Rashaan Evans had a house full of Alabama & Auburn coaches yesterday.

quote:

Rashaan Evans was visited at his home by both staffs Saturday night during his grandfather's 80th birthday party, creating a scene that Evans' father Alan Evans said was almost surreal.

"It was Bama and Auburn in the same room. Really a once in a lifetime event," said the elder Evans.
quote:

The Evans family was originally scheduled to host Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn and Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart but as the two staffs continued to firm up their plans for the evening, the guest list grew. Alan Evans said Malzahn was accompanied by the entire defensive staff from Auburn while Smart was joined by fellow Alabama assistants Lance Thompson, Burton Burns and Bo Davis.

"Both staffs were very cordial to each other. They ended up hanging out together and both trying to talk to Rashaan whenever they could."

That's a fake story. All of our Auburn friends were adamant the party was going to be on campus.

Has our coaching staff ever pursued a prospect like the way they have Evans?

BOL has a story about Leo Lewis' experience at Junior Day yesterday. Here are the cliffs:

-Said he had a great visit and got to meet the coaches and some players.
-Talked to Saban about the prestige of Alabama and the facilities. Also talked about academics.
-Saban told him he was a great player and that he hadn't seen film like his in a long time. Lewis said it gave him chills when he heard that.
-Met with Kevin Steele who took him through the defense and showed him how they use LBers.
-He loves Steele. Says he's a great guy.
-He met with Reuben who told him he would be his mentor if he came to Bama.
-Lewis said the discipline and dedication of the football program is what really stands out to him.
-Likes how Bama develops players into men.
-Said he doesn't have favorites but that Alabama, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Florida are recruiting him the hardest.
-Lewis will attend MS State's Junior Day next weekend.
-He will return to Tuscaloosa for A-Day.

Sounds like this visit went extremely well for us. I think this kid has the best MLBer film I've ever seen other than Reuben's. He's a stud.

Chad Thomas tweeted he was alone and doing push-ups.... on Saturday night on his official visit in T-Town.

What. The. Frick.

Anyways, I fully expect the many insiders to now come out with inside information about Chad not having a great trip. If only these insiders could tell us thing we already didn't know.

BOL also has a story about Kengera Daniel's Junior Day trip. Here are the cliffs:

-We are his first offer, which Saban extended in his office.
-Was told he could play DE or OLB.
-Got to meet the coaches and players.
-Toured the facilities and weight room.
-Steele is his area recruiter. Got to talk with Lance too.
-Also receiving interest from Oklahoma State, North Carolina, Duke, USCe and East Carolina.
-Gonna hit the camp circuit this summer.
-Grew up an Ohio State fan. Likes USCe and now Alabama.
-Junior Stats: 85 tackles, 43 TFL, 13 sacks, 1 interception.

I watched his film yesterday. He looks like a million bucks physically. If he knew how to tackle properly he would have had over 100 tackles last season.

BOL is reporting that Reuben was at Evans' grandfather's party as well last night. At one point he and Rashaan left the party together.

Reuben may have been a huge pain in our arse during his recruitment, but if he can help us reel in Rashaan and Leo Lewis he'll quickly gain legendary status with me.

At the beginning of this month Kirby and Marlon were practically best friends. He and Marlon went to Marlon's sister's basketball game, hung out at Steak and Shake, and had lunch together. Marlon made Smart work.

I knew he was a long shot and basically a no-go if we couldn't get his parents to visit with him, but I didn't expect him to not have a good time.
