6. Luke Del Rio leaning towards transferring.

This surprised me. Anyone with any insight? His dad did not get the USC job and even if Coker transferred he could start as RS JR at the worst.

Luke Stampini, Florida insider, is saying that Bo is telling people OM is in good position to flip him

Don't understand how he can go from recruiting for us at the UA game to being in position to flip in less than two weeks.

We hired Kiffin lol

Kiffin never recruited Del Rio out of college despite his dad being a famous USCw alum

Oregon St offered him a scholly out of HS

Could we get Mixon? Or is he an EE?

Bo's actions have seemed to indicate he is solid go UA. That is odd.

It depends on if he gets his scholarship, something he was told he'd get when he came in. Feels like he's done enough to warrant it, being 3rd string in front of several scholarship players.

As I read that I was wondering if he was called and notified by staff at Bama or if he read this board and other boards and knew it is a strong possibility

Also interesting to consider if we do lose Kirby would really suck but Saban could bring in Orgeron as DC maybe

That would make a huge difference I suspect as well

I'd trade the traitor for LDR

You also got to think Kiffin is looking for a big splash this year on offense. He knows that this opportunity is big, and I think he will be out to prove himself. That being said, a Greg McElroy prototype quarterback is not going to help him make a big impact on offense. While G Mac rarely lost the game for us; he didn't often win the game for us either. Del Rio, while incredibly intelligent, is undersized and does not have a big arm.

I'm guessing the QB (until I hear reports that Coker is healthy and is the better QB) will be Morris and I'm fine with that, he is a gun slinger

I feel like Saban was just sort of rewarding Sims in mop-up and it was one of the biggest arguments he & Nuss had over the QBs in mop-up

Yeah will never understand the way we handled backups this year. Had AJ been injured for the season in the TN game, does anyone think we could have relied on Blake Sims to carry us the rest of the way? I don't.

A lot of head butts between Saban and Nuss

Morris does not have the pocket mobility that Bateman Coker or Cornwell have.

Morris, Sims, Del Rio, and McLeod are all more likely to transfer than start for us. Remember when if Del Rio takes one snap of in game action this year he counts against the 85.

How would he count against us? I didn't think a walk on would count against our numbers unless we put him on scholarship.

A walk on in Del Rio's case counts if they play before their 3rd year I believe is the rule.

Yeah, I'm already counting Morris out. It seems like it isn't a far away assumption to say Saban isn't that high on him. He made a lot of mental errors at A-Day last year, I think him not playing much is indicative of him not having what it takes between the ears to play QB for us.

Like I pointed out without defections if Del Rio played this year you would have - Coker, Sims, Del Rio, Morris, Bateman, McLeod, and Cornwell all counting against the 85. If Coker comes in expect 3 of those to transfer.
