@ChaseGoodbread: Told that Lane Kiffin is Dreamland-bound for dinner. Everyone in there will notice him. But I doubt he'll get asked for autographs.

FWIW Bone says Urlic Jones is no where close to being on Bama's radar.

Interesting. I find that as the day goes on I'm wanting the hire to happen more and more.

I may get shamed for this, but I never got to try Archibalds while I was at UA. I tried once, but it must have been a bad time because the guy said I needed to order ahead. Maybe a game weekend?

I still like Dreamland though, idk why you guys knock it so much.

To get someone interested, I always get a couple of other guys and we get the BBQ Bonanza. For a group of around 4 grown men, it's plenty for everyone and when the new guy realizes he loves it let him take home the rest to further his obsession.

Big Daddy's in Warrior is easily one of the best in AL

Full Moon is excellent as well

The Dreamland in Ttown can be good (ribs) the ones in Mobile and Birmingham are less than impressive

According to BOL, Marlon's trip to Iceland is off, and he is back to going to FSU that weekend, meaning that Bama will (most likely) get his last visit.

He's also back to announcing on signing day.

Marlon's mind is made up. Now it's just a matter of whether or not it changes.

Basically any recruit that has a consistent top two throughout the process knows deep down where he is going by now. It doesn't take 2 years to make a decision after multiple trips to each school.

I'll take full moon over dreamland any day. There used to be a little BBQ place over on skyland in front of the theatre that was pretty good, but it's gone now

From TI:(Free)

A source is very close to the Galena Park-Northshore program told me that he was with the Northshore coaching staff today. He asked about the Whitley's recent flip to UCLA and rumors that Whitley had some transcript concerns that might prevent him from enrolling at UCLA next week.Source said that Whitley's grades (transcript) are fine. Whitley's teammate who is also going to UCLA has some sort of an issue with his transcript. Not sure if that's been worked out.Said that the Northshore staff was "very disappointed" that Whitley flipped from Alabama to UCLA.As for having second thoughts on his decision to flip to UCLA, the Northshore coaches told my source that they doubted Whitley is reconsidering his choice. They feel he's made his final decision and that unless something unexpected happened he's headed to UCLA. The staff was surprised once, so anything is possible I guess, but they're not expecting another change.I did ask for more insight into the flip. Only thing I got was that Whitley said he felt "more comfortable" with the UCLA players.

Now that there is a Jim N Nicks (better over all food) and of course Archibalds (better ribs) Dreamland is the last place I would go in T-town.

Which is sad because my name is on the wall right by the door in the USA today article from 2008.

The little joint on Skyland was a Golden Rule (not great) but the Costas there in 09/10 was great. I think they suffered damage in the 4/27/11 tornadoes that had to deal with them closing.

Or are you talking about the little Archibalds that opened right there on Old Montgomery Highway/Skyland?

Also as we've established Kiffin is not a QB coach, which means if he is the hire Napier goes to QB coach. But if Kiffin isn't the guy look for it to be James Coley or Frank Scelfo.

Mike Bloomgren not being a QB coach is an impediment to him not being it either. Now if Cristobal leaves then he would be more likely to be the guy for OC. Still not going to happen, maybe down the road.

You have to think a top program like Northshore-Galena is doing the calculus that going forward bad ties with UCLA's staff would hurt less than bad ties to Bama's.
