Elizabethtown (Ky.) John Hardin DT Matt Elam will be taking his official visit to Alabama on Jan. 17. The troubling news for Kentucky fans is that joining Elam on that visit will be ten Tide commitments.

Drew Barker was just on KSR radio and said he was surprised by Matt's decision, didn't get to talk to him about it (because they were on different teams), and now says he's not as confident and has no clue what he will do.

Top Remaining Targets:
CB Marlon Humphrey, Hoover, AL - The state of Alabama's top prospect is also the University of Alabama's top remaining recruiting target. The nation's top cornerback is giving serious thought to Florida State but Alabama's recent addition of five-star cornerback and track star Tony Brown could make Tuscaloosa even more attractive to the Hoover star.
DT Matt Elam, Elizabethtown, KY - Despite Alabama landing commitments from several elite defensive tackles already in the 2014 class, Elam appears to be the real prize for the Tide. The 6-foot-4, 370-pound monster has the frame to be a true two-gap nose tackle in the Tide's defensive front. He recently delayed his announcement until National Signing Day, giving Alabama one more chance to make a big impression when he takes his official visit to Tuscaloosa on January 17.
OLB/DB Rashaan Evans, Auburn, AL - One of the fastest-rising prospects in the nation after a spectacular senior season, the five-star defender from Auburn may be favoring the Tigers heading into the home stretch but plans to take an official visit to Alabama on January 17 before making his decision. Alabama's recent loss of linebacker commit Zach Whitley makes Evans a higher priority for the Tide heading into the home stretch.
WR Malachi Dupre, New Orleans, LA - After missing out on receiver target Travis Rudolph at the Under Armour All-America Game, Alabama may step up its recruitment of this five-star athlete from New Orleans. Dupre, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound star, is considered a heavy LSU lean but will likely take an official visit to Tuscaloosa sometime in January.
RB Leonard Fournette, New Orleans, LA - Alabama missed out on the nation's top running back when he announced his commitment to LSU at the Under Armour All-America Game...or did they? Alabama will likely continue to pursue Fournette until National Signing Day with few other elite running backs still on the market in the 2014 class and Alabama's recruiting momentum in the state of Louisiana still at an all-time high.

Does anyone else think we need to have two signing periods?
Because having to wait until February of your senior year is just insane.

When will we hear about transfers? I'm assuming some of them will wait until after spring, but I wonder if guys like Alvin Kamara are gone yet.

Absolutely. They have two for basketball. Why not make another one for football?

With the assumption if the head coach leaves between the two periods they are out of their LOI.
