We have 6 commits in the composite top 50

If we are able to land Humphrey we'll have 4 in the composite top 10

Having Brown and Humphrey would make me feel better about the next couple seasons.

Smart money is on Charlie Strong for the Texas job. Even Louisville fans are nervous as frick right now.

I don't know about that, Texas would have hired Strong by now. The reason Texas hasn't hired anyone is because the coach they want is unhireable right now. After Jan.6 he will be on the market.

A lot of smoke surrounding Golden leaving for PSU. Do you think we can get in the mix with Chad Thomas?

Sounds like its down to him and Franklin. Think Franklin has a white wife too.

ETA: Nevermind, she's black.

While Cecil Hurt is now saying Kirby is starting to get traction as a replacement coach for either Miami, Louisville, or Vandy.

The timing is probably good for Kirby. Fresh eyes for us on D and he gets to audition for a bigger job in the future.

Some dude on BOL is saying that Darius Paige has been consulting with a cardiologist in Minnesota and that he may be cleared to play football again.

Anyone know if he is indeed cleared if he could play for us or would he have to transfer since we placed him on a medical scholarship?

Mayo Clinic? I doubt they will clear him if UAB didn't.

He didn't specify. Zeke Knight transferred to Stillman and played after our medical staff DQ'd him though.

I'll never understand exactly what went down with Zeke Knight. He was DQ'd by our medical staff, but he stayed on scholarship. Why would he risk all that to go to Stillman? Especially since he was 85 percent of the way through Alabama's education department? I mean how many players at Bama get education degrees in the first place. And if he did "transfer" and play at Stillman, how and why was he allowed back to UA the next spring to finish his BS/ED degree? (Which I assumed UA paid for). I have the stuff from spring 09 where he is on the class roster with me in 400 level education classes. Weird situation.

Zeke also had a ton of teams turn him down before he finally found one that didn't give a frick.

Signusup, insider from BOL, said the decision was already made and Paige will not play football, but will be able to take classes at Bama.

yeah I would hate to Paige pull a Philon and go to another SEC school and do good while our Interior DL lacks any kind of impact.

This is just stupid. There's not a damn person in the Texas athletic department that gives a shite about that.

As stupid as it may sound, it stopped Strong from getting a HC job already. Hopefully Texas pulls the trigger and hires Charlie because he is a good coach.
