I know a lot has been said regarding Elam today so I'll steer this thread in a different direction, specifically offensive tackle.

He may not be the highest ranked guy left on the board, but Brian Wallace could end up the best pro prospect out of them.

Next year's class is EXTREMELY weak at the tackle position so we need to sign more than one elite guy, from high school, in this class.

There are a few analysts on the 247 network who think Wallace has the highest ceiling of any OT in this class. Couple him with CamRob and we're set for a few years.

He may rise up to #1 on my wish list by this weekend. Love this kid. He's a fricking beast.

Its funny how classes ebb and flow with elite guys in particular positions. I know the top 35/40 guys will always be 5 stars every cycle but I wonder if there have only been like 10 or so in a particular class. Compared to other years of course.

I've seen where his Top 2 are Bama and Iowa. We were his last OV and a few people CB'd him to us right after.

I think we lead, but he's a quiet kid. He announces on the 4th at the Army game.

And what the hell happened to EJ Moss?

He was a man child as a freshman with high expectations, then "Poof." He practically disappeared.

He'd be a hell of a H-back for us.

Happens a lot with instate QBs it seems.

But the Underarmor Game being on right before the Sugar Bowl should be great for pre gaming.

Also this time last year A'Shawn was barely on the radar. Anybody out there as a possibility now?

I'd say Chad Thomas, Miami commit, fits the bill.

I haven't seen anything on unknown guys yet. I guess there could be some down the road, but the Dead Period really limits the amount of info available.

I've seen a few people say not to count Hootie out just yet.

We made Juju Smith's final 3 with USC and Oregon, but USC just hired his uncle.

Some people think we have a real shot with Tony Brown, but I don't see it.

I honestly wouldn't mind us going after Sammie Epps, the TE from Mississippi that just decommitted from Ole Miss.

I really like Thomas. He'd be a beast DE once he added weight.

Brian Wallace is very quiet. No one really has a good idea of where he's leaning. Word was he really enjoyed his visit to Mizzou, and one of his HS teammates/friends is enrolling early with us. But no one really seems to have a good idea of what he's thinking. We already have 6 OL in this class, I believe, so who knows. We really need recruits on the defensive side of the ball. Wallace will be a good one no matter where he ends up.

If you are a member of BOL you probably know this already, but the homepage there has a section for our targets Crystal Ball projections. It's normally filled with prospects we all know, but recently there was a guy listed that I haven't seen associated with Alabama.

His name is Patrick Porter. He's a 3-star CB from Paul W. Bryant high school in Cottondale.

Anyone know him? See him play?

Speaking of the Crystal Ball, we got a prediction for Matt Elam last night.

I hope we blow Rashaan Evans and family away on his OV. I'd hate to see him at Auburn, even though it's likely.

Partially tore a ligament in ma knee, been laid up at the house about a week and watching lost and helping Saban recruit. Who was Thomas against in the opening video that every one is gooing and gaaing over?

We won't get Evans. best we can hope for is for him to go to UCLA so we won't have to face him. I've also seen where OM is trying to get in it. Never know about five stars in Jan and OM. Not as worried if he ended up there, as I still see Freeze as an unproven commodity.
All I want is to keep Miller and Hand and maybe add Chad Thomas and call it a day.

Thomas blew up Damian Mama at The Opening. Very impressive considering Mama outweighs him by over 100 pounds.

Chad Thomas absolutely fits the bill as a last minute guy Bama could land

He's an ANIMAL like posted, just mauled guys at the UA combine and he has that power skillset to be another perfect 5 Tech and his technique is just impressive as hell to me for a guy his size.

If you guys remember on Elam I was concerned early on that he would stay in-state, now to this point I could see him picking either school and Bama's staff has done a great job of recruiting him, but sometimes kids just stay home. Bama is pulling guys from all over the US in this class and is a serious threat to UK for him but I don't understand the thought process behind UK's staff "guilting" him, he admittedly was a huge UK fan growing up and that was the concern I had. It helps that Mom has sort of warmed on Bama more than she was (seemed early on like she wanted to go to UK). The only other issue I have with Elam is that he is a very niche player and the last guy that was that same niche player was a SUPERSTAR at Bama (Terrence Cody) and he fits a very specific role in Bama's defensive scheme so I would hope Stoops has serious plans to switch to a 3 man front since he's not a guy you plugin to a 4 man at DT and I'd hate to see him go to UK and not be used correctly. I also realize though that this UK staff is selling the appeal of a UK turnaround and it seems to be working on a lot of guys.

This group of DL with or without Elam is pretty sick
