Didn't I tell you that Hampton could have been recruiting Hootie to OM? Seems shady if so. I was just starting to get over it and now I'm
how can a staff turn up the heat on a recruit during the dead period?
Oh, and 13,500
(I don't feel like this post needs to be celebrated)

I asked like 5 pages ago what the hell was going on with Hootie and Ole Miss.
And y'all ignored it.
Buncha sexists up in here.

The drama in this class
Four decommits with a possibility of three more. Uncertainty left at our remaining targets: Elam to UK? Tabor to Zona? Hump to FSU? Wallace to Iowa?
Too much drama. I need to stop following recruiting so seriously. It just seems ridiculous that at a position where you can earn a starting job by your sophomore year, be a first round pick, and learn from the best and yet no highly touted safety recruit wants to come here.

I don't know. Maybe Freeze is doing something really special over there. They lose to their rival, go to the Music City Bowl, and pull in five stars. Must be those trees there

Swooping in during the dead period. Please explain to me how that even works (without the obvious explanation)

This year, besides Deion Belue, all of our db's played like Marquis Johnson did in 2008. He showed a lot of improvement the next year, and I hope that we do the same. I'm starting to lose hope though because we can't even hang on to db recruits.

It certainly makes sense to think Hampton convinced Hootie to flip and go to Ole Miss .They always wanted to play together. Something strange like what flipped Bessent may be at play here. Don't know what kind of hook these rivals are using against us but it seems to be believable and deal changing.

Adams and Hootie play 2 different positions correct? Why want one and not the other????
No telling what could change for these kids, maybe peer pressure, maybe a talk with a certain coach, who knows. LSU had that LB a couple years ago that switched commitments on signing day a couple weeks after saying he was 100% LSU.

Likely 2Bits it is something along the lines of you can "work your arse off at Bama and win or you can work less here and win".

They play 2 different styles (different body types also) but Hootie seems like he might even slide down and play some LB in LSU's D or a tweener, Adams is much more similar to Eric Reid type of S whose role won't change
Hootie is sort of a do-it-all S type more adapt at physical inside the box type play, can still cover really well

Oh and I'm glad we have shown maturity (here and BOL). Nobody is insulting the kid, nobody is insulting his family and very few if any are mentioning anything about getting paid. We were classy about Viane, Kalvarez, Roberts and now Hootie de-commiting. Well done, I guess.
Our fanbase goes psycho on a lot of things, but recruiting usually isn't one of them.

If we had an average kicker, we win the game. If we had a great kicker, we only lose one game since 2011. I think Cade is a good person, but if we are looking solely at his play on the field, he has not lived up to the standard.
I realize Cade missed three very important kicks in the IB. Points that would have more than likely secured an Alabama victory. But prior to that game, he had only missed one kick all season. All I'm saying is, he improved a lot this season so let's not act like he is completely awful. The kid just cracked under pressure.
There were other factors in the game that put Cade in those positions. If our entire team would have played the way they were capable of playing, we wouldn't have needed a FG to win that game. The loss falls on the entire team and staff imo.

Stop coping pleas for Cade. He had always been a poor kicker under pressure. A kickers job is to make the high pressure ones, if he doesn't (in Cade's case never does) then awful may be a word to describe him.
Another thing, of course he looked better this year when he had taken 0 kicks in a real pressure situation. The last time he took a kick in a situation like that he missed. I blame our staff though. Once he screwed up that 33 yard chip shot I'd have yanked him for the red-shirt blue chip kid.

Cade Foster is ranked 77th in the county in percentage of field goals made. 77th. Let's let that sink in. Schools like New Mexico State and Toledo have higher ranked kickers.
I don't care how many field goals Foster made in games like Georgia State that don't matter. In games that do, he chokes. If we had a good kicker, we win the game. It's not like we were expecting him to make 50+ yard field goals. We're talking in the 30s range for some that he missed. Even his extra points during the IB looked like they weren't going to make it in. Like i said, he is a good kid and I feel bad for him, but I'm thankful that he has no more eligibility left.
I started off the season in I think it was the ATM thread saying that I hope the game doesn't come down to Cade. People were convinced that he had changed, and I was cautiously optimistic. But at the end of the season, it was same Cade Foster, different year. I only hope the results of the Sugar Bowl do not rest on Cade Foster. If they do, we can chalk that up as an L. Big game Foster will strike again.

I'm more pissed at Nudie for missing a block on the 4th and 1 attempt moreso than at Foster.
Make that block and Bama scores.
