In other Crystall Ball news, some guy named Blake Ryan Hatfield predicted Elam and Carter to Bama yesterday.

He also predicted Tabor to Maryland.

You realize I was being sarcastic? I do think this recruit prediction thing has potential for shenanigans/outright comedy.

The ability to rush the passer is imperative for a team's success in the SEC. That is why 4-star prospect Christian Miller was such a coveted recruit across the league.

He's headed to Tuscaloosa where he will pressure passers for the Crimson Tide. Miller is an ideal fit for 'Bama as a 3-4 outside linebacker, as he rushes best from a two-point stance at 6'4" and 222 pounds. He can also play with his hand down as a traditional defensive end.

Miller should become one of the best defensive players in the SEC in a few seasons.

As a 5-star defensive end, Da'Shawn Hand could play several different roles for the Crimson Tide before he leaves Tuscaloosa.

At 6'4" and 254 pounds, Hand can play defensive end in either a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme.

He also can play outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense due to his athleticism and ability to pursue the ball with good speed. From Virginia, Hand should be an equally effective player versus both the run and pass.

Head coach Nick Saban and defensive coordinator Kirby Smart will certainly find different ways for Hand to make plays, as he's too talented not to become an SEC standout at 'Bama.

Freedom High School running back Joe Mixon was unable to carry his team deeper into the postseason, but he put on another scintillating performance. The coveted prospect picked up 237 total yards in a 27-21 loss to Pittsburg, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Mixon had a 39-yard touchdown reception and rushed for a 47-yard score.
