That's interesting. I was looking at his timeline and he hasn't been on campus since June. Anybody know what's up with that?

FYI, Frazier tried to commit to Alabama last week, we're holding off for the time being. Could very well be a plan B on Elam.......if so though, you won't see Frazier in Crimson because Elam will sign with Bama.

I say sign Elam and Shaw. Both are better than Frazier when healthy. If Shaw's neck can't be cleared he still gets a full educational ride. If it is cleared we get a top 40 defensive lineman. Win win.

At least he's short, so if he slips, he won't fall far

Latest on CJ Hampton per OM recruiting thread

quote:

The very latest with C.J. Hampton as of 5 minutes ago: 1. He is visiting Bama on Saturday for his official. He said he wanted to come for the Mizzou game but he had this official scheduled for a while. 2. He says he will probably make it up to Oxford early next week and attend an Ole Miss practice since school is out. 3. Do not be surprised if he shows up on the MSU visitor list for the Egg Bowl in Starkville. Don't read anything into it if he does. I have a much better feeling about CJ and his commitment status to Ole Miss after tonight's conversation. Much better.

Still takes up a spot. Have to play the odds.

Frazier= Guaranteed, if nothing else, a warm body for the middle

Shaw= Has upside, but questionable as to whether or not he will ever be cleared

After Paige, I personally am in favor of taking another big body for the middle, that is certain to qualify. Quality depth in the middle for this defense makes it go from a 5th-best statistical-wise defense to first. Just my opinion, though.

Charles Power and Tim Watts have predicted Roberts to Auburn on the crystal ball.

Location, location, location.

This is why USC should never have "down" years. 10-11 win seasons should be the low point. Built-in recruiting advantage. Hire merely competent head coaches, and the program is set.

2015 5-star DT Tim Settle news:

quote:

Last Thursday, Da’Shawn Hand selected Alabama over Michigan and Florida. Most felt that Michigan was the heavy favorite heading into the announcement.

“I was shocked and not at the same time. I knew that Da’Shawn was going to go to a big football school but he’s also looking at the academic angle.

“Alabama gets him where he needs to be football wise and at the same time, they have his major and he was impressed with the academic part of it. Knowing Da’Shawn, he’ll stay there until he gets his degree.”

Settle and Hand are friends. The Stonewall Jackson standout was asked if Hand selecting Alabama would increase the Crimson Tide’s chances of landing him in the 2015 class.

“I’ve got to find the best fit for me. I’m making my decision on October 18th of next year, so I’ve got plenty of time to think things through and plenty can change.

“I’ll most definitely visit Alabama again before then and I loved it there the first time I visited. They treated me like a king when I was there.”
