Apparently Auburn is only recruiting Moss as an ILB from his Junior Day quotes from there. He also says he doesn't have an offer from them.

quote:

"I like it a lot. They are looking at me as linebacker, inside linebacker. I want to get on the field, linebacker works for me fine."

I'm really surprised that we haven't seen Belue back there fielding kickoffs and punts.

His Senior year of high school he had 7 straight games with a return for a TD.

Maxpreps has Moss ranked as the #54 overall player as an athlete.

He's big enough to play multiple positions. Just needs to find a spot and stick to it.

'14 FL LB Jacob Pugh, who named Bama his leader after being offered, will make a Summer decision.

He will also take another visit to Bama before then.

He's built like Matthew Thomas. I wonder what he brings to the table that Thomas couldn't, seeing as he didn't have a commitable offer.

Trevor H said he looked very good at Junior Day, and that he has put on more weight recently. Thomas was listed between 205-210 as a Senior. So it may have something to do with weight, even though Thomas' mom wouldn't let him leave the state anyway.

We need to replenish the Inside LBer spots. I know we signed Foster in this class and we are in the Top 2 for Daub, but I don't see a McLain or Hightower on the roster. Frankly, I don't see anyone in the 2014 class that compares to them either.

We seem to be going after smaller, faster guys now. I hope that doesn't bite us in the arse long term.

I guess going after these huge NGs could offset the beef of our LBer corp.

They're all young pups, they really haven't had much field time yet. Mosley and DePriest returning doesn't do many favors for them either. Should be interesting to see if Dickson actually gets moved down to fulltime end and if Hubbard switches to base JACK. Will give someone a chance at SAM.

And '14 TX RB Samaje Perine is planning on committing after his visit to TCU this upcoming weekend, Bama and Oklahoma are on top. Not sure if it was said, but he's originally from Jackson, AL.

Rivals' list him as 5-11, 233, so maybe they are thinking about a permanent Fowler-esque system? He has played it in the past, though he ran for just under 2k in what I believe is 5A Texas football.

I don't think Perine has a committable offer from us. I could be wrong though.

Another area of concern for me is Center. I thought we had our Center of the future locked up early last year in Dodd, but he flipped to Cry Baby U.

Who are we pursuing that could fill that role?

And it's looking like we should rename this thread the Magilla and Tide "discussion thread."

Devall reminds me of a young Hightower, but that might just be the number on the jersey.

I really hope Devall dominates next year. Nothing like stealing a Louisiana prospect and having him be elite.

I can't think of any state that I love stealing recruits from.

I think he might, possibly in the sense of "take it now or it's gone". He did mention before he got his offer that he was looking for where he'd fit into a depth chart. Guess we'll see in a week or so.

Center seems like a position that will be determined at position camps, as a lot of Centers don't actually play such in HS. There's Casher out of Mobile, but I don't he gets an offer with his height.

He's already played a little DE in an odd front like Hightower had done at Bama, so he's showing a little versatility like him. Like to see him standing more, which would complete the comparison.

Having that chess piece quality as a player is priceless...

I think the development of Jonathan Allen will be worth watching since I think Bama staff adding Tim Williams as a legitimate Jack piece in this class gives staff the ability to develop Allen as a Hightower type and teach him all the LB duties

I think the reason Belue didn't pr was because we couldn't afford him to get hurt or banged up, or winded for that matter.

If he didn't have a commitable offer, we wouldn't have continued to recruit him up until signing day.
