This will be an interesting year in recruiting to say the least.

He also said in another article yesterday “Alabama, they want me the most,” I would love to land this guy and David Cornwell.

If we are truly only taking one wideout in the 2014 class, why not take the #1 ranked WR?

As far as Cornwell goes, we need to get him on campus. Our staff is really big on offering kids who throw in person.

It's not that there aren't multiple WRs capable of playing for Alabama, but over the last 2 years we have signed a multitude of players.

We are currently poised to sign 1, maybe 2 if they are elite, wideouts. I believe Ermon Lane is one of them.

He wears the Miami hat because he's from the area.

We've got too many wide receivers as it is. I wish they would move Cyrus Jones to corner

Kids that seem to rotate positions never seem to pan out? What is the logic with his moving there

I can think of two reasons:

1. So that we have enough CBs for both squads in spring scrimmages and A-day. If Fulton isn't back 100% from foot surgery, we may only have 4 healthy scholly CBs

2. Cyrus moving to CB would give us enough CBs that we could start Averett out at Safety when he reports.

Or it could just be a typical spring practice looksy that doesn't take.

I agree but if it does not take is he not now behind other WR's who played there all spring

Maybe he was already behind them. Maybe why he's willing to try another position. Just speculating.

Cyrus Jones' biggest contribution to date is returning kicks, and he can still do so at CB.

Being projected at 3rd string at Slot, a specified position that splits time with the H-Back, isn't exactly near the top of the depth chart.

If he moves, then returns, he'll still likely be in the same spot since he's being asked to play inside.

A healthy Chris Black and Ardarius Stewart coming in at receiver just clouds the slot position more. I have seen the film and Stewart wants to be a touchdown maker and it's understandable, but he has a higher ceiling as a DB IMO and he has a faster path to playing time on defense right now ...........it'll be fun to see how it all plays out.

I was drunk as shite last night and dreaded coming in here to see what I posted. As it turns out, I did a pretty good job with my syntax and punctuation. I also made good points that made actual sense.

Meh. His very similar to Foster so if we miss on him it will be ok. Not saying I wouldn't like to land him, but ILBer is not a glaring position of need.

Didn't Cyrus make some pretty big plays in the UA game playing CB?

Cam Robinson quotes -

On Alabama/LSU comparison:

quote:

"They are almost identical schools, they are in the SEC, and I like the style of offense they run. I have great relationships with the coaches, and I feel at home at both schools. And they both have a great fan base."

On Bama:

quote:

"What I probably like the most about Alabama is the relationship I've been able to develop with the coaches, I also like how they show me and my mom a tremendous amount of love when I'm there.

"And they win. With the past two national championships, you can't deny that it's a great staff. They prepare their players for the next level and they work hard to make sure the players graduate. That's what sticks out the most."

On LSU:

quote:

"They show me and my family love whenever I'm down there, it feels like home and just like family when I go there."

"When I talk to Coach Stud, he tells me that if I came there, I'd have a great chance to start as a freshman and get a lot of early playing time. He talked about the left tackle [Chris Faulk] who got hurt and left early for the draft."

On what he heard from Bama coaches:

quote:

"When Coach Stoutland was there, he always told me how good my feet were, he said I had tremendous feet and that my footwork was natural. He also liked my aggression and that I'm aggressive with my run blocking. When I spoke to Coach Saban, he told me I'm most definitely a tackle, either left or right. Wherever I'm needed, I'll be willing to play it if it benefits the team."

On Coach Stout leaving for Philly:

quote:

"Even with the great relationship I was able to develop with Coach Stoutland, it's a business, and I understand he has family in that area, it doesn't affect my view of Alabama. I'm anxious and I'm planning on developing my relationship with the new offensive line coach."

I posted this because he is a really well spoken kid and 1 I REALLY want as a part of this class...and it's no secret who leads

Yes.
His ceiling is highest at corner.
Hate that a year was wasted on the slot experiment.
