Agreed on that.

One bonus of a mask is it makes it less likely someone recognizes me

Exactly. I don’t hide. I’m the guy not wearing a mask. Come up and tell me your thoughts.

Comments like this just contribute to the polarization that is continually harming our country. Not super helpful, and of very little substance.

I'm sorry, I didn't see your comment about calling non-mask wearers assholes as being harming. Must have missed it.

Very harming?

Go hide in your basement. I'll be on the beach without my mask.

It’s here and we are all going to catch it. It’s just a matter of time. If you’ve never had a virus, then my hat goes off to ya

Not that anyone cares (or should care, I'm just a normal a-hole like everyone else here), but my single issue with masks is that the way requirements are being implemented isn't going to really do a lot to slow the virus.

The experts now say that your chance of catching COVID is incredibly low unless you're in close contact with an infected person.

They define close contact as within 6' for at least 15 minutes. You aren't catching it at Wal-Mart. You're catching it at the small office meeting or at your friend's house - but that's where people AREN'T required to wear masks. It irks me to be told I must do something to protect people yet the current science says what I'm being told I must do doesn't really do very much at all to protect people.

It isn't a hill worth planting the flag and dying on to me. Like Phil, I wear one at work so it isn't so odd to wear one at the store it just irks me to see the guy buying the beer and charcoal with is mask on is going home, taking it off, and sharing the Rona at his cookout but me, who isn't having cookouts and and family get togethers because they're risky has to wear the damned mask.

The study suggests that most of the lethality came from rapid spread of the disease. Nobody here is arguing how deadly it is, we're saying spreading it is the danger, which is exactly what your study agreed with.

Which means it has already spread. Stop worrying. You probably already had it.

And it is less lethal than you are told.

It means people are fed a lie about masks just like the lie about Bubba.

Sure, because an attention whoring driver in danger of losing his job because of poor performance deciding to pull a Jussie Smollett is exactly the same as officials instituting well meaning but mostly ineffective public health edicts.

Your views are clear. It’s not the thread for you to evangelize for your political views though, as the thread title clearly states.
