He further asks that the DOJ review whether this election interference necessitates federal intervention under the Guarantee Clause of Article IV, Section IV of the U.S Constitution.”

So I just read a few articles and pieced together some things on the Luzerne, PA ballot situation, and I think I have a reasonable theory on what happened. I'm open to discuss it, or you guys can just call me names some more. Doesn't bother me either way.
Quick background. PA has had a law on the books for years that naked ballots are tossed out. Many other states have similar laws when it comes to absentee ballots. Naked ballots are ballots that are NOT placed in the secrecy envelope included with the ballot mailed to absentee voters. Alabama has a similar law if anyone here has ever voted absentee. The theory behind it is it keeps the ballot from any info that could identify that ballot to a voter(ie. return address) Democratic lawmakers in PA recently asked the state supreme court to clarify the law so that naked ballots could be counted in this year's election. The Trump campaign actually filed a brief in support of the law. The state supreme court rejected their request to review it, so the naked ballot law remained in place.
In the meantime there was also a legal challenge on a Green Party candidate being on the ballot, but absentee applications were stacking up. The election office sent blank ballots to military and overseas voters for them to write-in the votes. From what I gathered, this is not unusual.
Those ballots started coming back in. 9 ballots were not placed in the secrecy envelope, so by law in PA they are tossed out. And again, the Trump campaign itself argued in favor of this law. Now, there definitely appears to be some record keeping issues with the election office and that should be investigated. It's also certainly possible an election office staff member opened those ballots and tossed them out, but that seems less likely. I also read that the ballot mailng envelope and the envelope for absentee applications look exactly alike. The DOJ itself said the envelopes were opened in due course, which I took to mean they were opened legitimately. When they opened 9 of them, the ballots were not in the secrecy envelope.

Looking into the vote totals in this case was crazy. These people are going to get serial killer sentences over the primary for a County Commissioner seat. She is going to need to call Kanye about getting a pardon

Uh, the decision was unanimous(5-0), including the 2 republican members on the board. They were present at the hours long meeting where the changes were discussed and they approved them. And the changes were to allow a few extra days to count absentee ballots - something several other states have done. And a court still has to approve the changes.

The fact that we are having this discussion about voter fraud and a smooth transition of power tells me that the American form of government is on life support and both parties are fiddling with the plug. How are we any better than any 3rd world banana republic that we have ridiculed in the past or any former Soviet eastern European dictatorship if we can't have a legitimate election?
The left has shown they will stop at nothing to depose Trump. They are Machiavellian to the core in that the ends justify the means and if laws are broken or the Constitution trampled, oh well, collateral damage.
By the same token, if Donald J. Trump loses an authentic election and refuses to yield the office, I will be in the front of the line demanding he acquiesce or there will be a second American revolution.
The political gamesmanship by the ruling parties MUST stop for the good of this country or they will destroy it. And they don't care as long as their side wins. If we could do just one thing to improve the governing of this country, it would be to abolish the two party system and create some competition for the betterment of the country as a whole.

Saint, I don't believe it, and neither should any person with 2 brain cells to rub together. I'm merely speaking to the mantra that one side keeps using as some twisted justification for their side ignoring any sort of respect for the office or the man occupying it. And truthfully, if Trump refused to leave office without a valid reason, he should be overthrown by any means necessary. But if it comes to that, I hope the American people use the opportunity to clean out the halls of Congress as well. There's to much rot in our government that needs eradicating.

What we got was an illegal spying campaign by a sitting president and presidential candidate that has been nothing short of a coup. I don't want to hear one word about respect for the office when the last admin has repeatedly used the FBI IRS & other government institutions against political opponents and on American citizens for political gain.

Well get your head out of the sand. It all happened on live TV. Barack and Michelle Obama welcomed Donald and Melanie Trump to the White House. They met. They went to the inauguration. They sat in the stage as Trump delivered his inauguration address. And all this was after Obama’s staff met day and night with Trumps transition team to ensure a peaceful transition.
Are you saying all this did not happen?
