If I started a gofundme page for folks to pay x amount of money to kick Kobie in the nuts. If we hit 10K do you think he'd do it?

For the right price , I'd participate. Partly because he is a shite bag but partly because I'd want to kick someone in the nuts

I'll be legitimately pissed if Pearl gets fired because he hired an Auburn legend that turned out to be a criminal POS.
I understand and generally agree with head coach accountability, but anticipating outright criminal activity is beyond what you should reasonably expect.

So does any of this affect our recruitment of players? Since Mississippi State will likely get pulled into this, we still should be in good position with Woodard right?

I'm sure it'll slow things on the recruiting trail until the dust settles. Barring more developments, I doubt it ends up affecting the names in our signing class. Could potentially help if a school we are battling gets slammed (like you mentioned MSU).. but I'm guessing negligible all the way around.

Ya, credible people say the push to get Persons hired was from the Jay Jacobs/Auburn AD too. Assuming Bruce had no knowledge, if he goes down for this it will be incredibly F'd up.
If Chuck was involved with the other story of pay for play shoe contract stuff, I'd say Bruce should get fired. I just don'tsee how any head coach could have recognized this BS stuff
Also, I'll say that I'm sure Auburn, like all top recrutiing programs, isn't 'squeaky clean' and could cause Bruce to be fired. I'm just saying that this Chuck Persons case better not be the reason, that's F'd up

Agree with all you said.
Also, in relation to the case as a whole, I feel a little better about the Nike angle. After some reading, the FBI didn't 'raid' their youth program, they simply subpoenaed records from them. There's still a lot of bad potential in that, but it suggests they aren't worried too much about encountering resistance from Nike. Throw in the fact that one of the people arrested is a former employee and you end up with a good chance that the Nike program isn't a target at all, but rather a potential source of evidence to use against someone already in custody.
So people with players from the Nike programs can take a baby step back from the cliff.

Also something to consider: Nike was the 800 lb gorilla in this scenario and Adidas was trying to play catch-up. So while it’s evidently clear that Nike did play the game, it probably wasn’t as pervasive with them as Adidas since Adidas was the one trying to make inroads. They probably were slipping money to a majority of their high profile recruits while Nike was probably able to limit it to the top tier and to kids they were directly banging heads with Adidas for. Not that that makes it any less sleazy but it should afford Nike schools like Bama less exposure to the fallout. We have one or two players that probably meet the criteria to be in play here while Kentucky’s whole roster may be at risk.

Just because a guy played EYBL doesn't mean he's tied to Nike either. Brian Bowen played in the EYBL and ended up at Louisville.

I can think of a reason. This is the ALABAMA board. The SEC Rant is the place for this interaction. I've read the last 3 pages and he's got every other post.
When I want an Auburn perspective on things, I'll read the Rant.

You have other options if you only want to interact with Alabama fans.
If it gets your panties in that big of a wad just skip his posts or don’t read the thread.
