Sounds like Key isn't buying in to the program. That would explain some performances.

What does this statement by Avery Johnson regarding Key's fiasco with the NBA sound like to y'all?
It sounds like he told Key that the feedback would be to return to school but he was happy for him to go through the process. Key went through the process, he was told to come back. Key decided to come back and wants to improve and win games.
Seems pretty normal.

Sounds like Key really thought he was good enough to get drafter. Avery told him how it really would be. Now that Key understands where he is on the NBA radar, he's back in with both feet to help Bama.
That's how I read it.

“He went through the process, the process played out, he’s back on campusready to have more of a leadership role and we’re excited to have him back,” Johnson said. “He makes us a much better basketball team."

What fiasco? Did I miss something on here?

RECAP: Coachcrisp doesn't like Key's attitude

You know it's the offseason, when we are manufacturing fiascos

I'd call leaving school and trying out for the NBA when you weren't even invited to the draft a fiasco, especially after watching his game last season. Avery Johnson knew the silliness of the move as did anybody that knows jack-shite about basketball...it is what it is.

Crisp thinks trying out for the draft was incredibly selfish and a distraction for the team during the off-season

That "no comment" didn't last very long did it.

Sounds positive if you aren't actively trying to spin it to make Key look bad.
The way I interpret it is: Avery is saying that nothing that happened is surprising and that the NBA told Braxton exactly what Avery told him beforehand.
But Avery also understands that Braxton is a grown up and has to make those life decisions for himself.
Braxton took advantage of an opportunity that he earned and got to hear additional feedback on his overall game from people that are currently working in the league that he aspires to be in one day.
He has a goal of playing in the NBA after his college career, there is nothing wrong with seeking information that can help him achieve that.

My 2 cents on what? Was anything I said opinionated? The truth is I didn't want to argue with a brick wall again

Not to start WWIII but if him coming back was a fiasco, what would it have been if he didn't withdraw or if he had transferred elsewhere?
Posted on 6/1/17 at 7:19 pm to Gongora
judging by the fact that crisp doesn't seem real excited about Braxton being back, I'm thinking he would've loved if he hadn't withdrawn or had transferred.
