I don't think announcers are required to talk about whatever the school is best at. I mean, they're calling a basketball game. Just do that. It's really not that difficult to talk about the team, sport, and game that is happening right in front of them.

of course they are going to bring up the football team

Here's a novel idea- talk about the ongoing game. It's not like it's golf. There's little to no down time in basketball for the announcer to have to do filler.

That's literally the only thing the school is known for across the nation

Same could be said of numerous schools, but you don't hear it brought up. Football is mentioned every single Bama basketball game. It's such a tired joke.

And a lot of the time they do it in the middle of play. It wouldn't be so bad if sometimes they talked about it during a timeout or something, but Dick Vitale and everyone else will talk non-stop about it while they're running up and down the court.

Doesn't irritate me as much, but it puts out that perception that we don't care about basketball. At least that's how I take it. We average around 12k in the last 10 years, and play in one of the worst venues in the conference with hardly any consistency on the court.

Is the game with Zona gonna be a home/home series or neutral site?

If it is home/home, I may need to find sometickets.

It's just a rumor. It's not confirmed. And it may not be done in time for this season. That's all we know at this point.

Is it even official yet? I've heard nothing but rumors that the series will happen.

I would hope we play them on Bham honestly.

I mean they spend 98% of the time doing exactly that, but make 5 comments about the most polarizing coach/football team in the country that happens to be affiliated with the same school and people complain about it.

I just don't understand why it is so bothersome. I don't find it to be that big of a deal. Maybe that's just me though.

Well the Texas game is in B-Ham this year and I doubt we'd play there twice in one year, so I guess we'd play in Tuscaloosa or away.

Already have Rhode Island and Texas at home. Will most likely host the SEC/BIG 12 challenge too I assume. Doubt we get another major non-conference home game.

nah, that's the game Huntsville gets next year as a reward for how good the home court advantage was this past year.

Brandon Johns retweeted a graphic made for him that had 10 school logos on it (I'm guessing it's his top 10) and Alabama was on it

It's the jokes that are said at damn near every game that frustrate me. Don't get me wrong the announcers that crack these jokes and talk about the football games from a couple months ago during live-ball play piss me off, but I'm more upset at our "fans". There's not many fans of Alabama, but there's a shite ton of Alabama football fans that switch hit during the off-season. That is what allows those announcers to crack jokes. If our football fans cared even half as much about the other sports as they do football, they wouldn't be able to label us as a football-only school.

Word among his friends is K. Lewis and family is pondering the idea of relocating to Kansas to finish his HS career and I know Kansas is 1 of his "dream" schools.

Seems like he's going to be a tough get. Not sure moving to Kansas would help him get recruited by them. The last time KU signed a kid in state was Conner Frankamp in '13, and he transferred after a year.

I know there was some talk in the past about him transferring to Madison Academy but he stayed due to him not wanting to leave his friends.
So I'm not certain the reason for the possible move is solely to be closer to KU.
