I’m gonna go out on a limb and say we win both of our games vs Mississippi State

I see. So you feel like Bruner played up to expectations?
Btw. Isn’t it nice to play a game in which we test to see which rotations work and win by nearly 30?

Depends on what your expectations were, but I was happy with what I saw from him.
He didn't light up the box score, but he did so many little things that made the others around him better.
As the season progresses, I expect his minutes to grow. He's a huge key to our success this season imo.

Early struggles with mid-majors aren't usually a good measure of what teams will look like mid-season. It's usually more of a statement for the mid-major than the P5 team. However, sometimes you can just tell a team stinks. State sucks. With all the defections, they are starting from ground zero and without many pieces to build with.
In the same vein, Auburn is not a very good team at this juncture. They were struggling with St. Joe. I listened to some of the game on the way home from work (yes, I'm one of those lucky slobs who had to work today to keep some of your grandparents medicated). I believe Sonny Smith is their color guy for their radio broadcast and he was bitching and moaning about everything Auburn was doing poorly in the second half. They had several opportunities to put that game away and were lucky they didn't give it away. Auburn and luck, where have I heard that before? Looking forward to see if we can step up our game now for better competition.

That ought to be an ugly beat down.

Quinerly lived up to my expectations, he is gonna have some huge games, we are in great shape with him at PG.
Rojas is a beast, had 8 rebs and 7 points in 20 minutes, really impressed by him.
Herb again looks like he is gonna be our MVP.
Shack played really well, didn't expect a double from him, seems a lot tougher than last year.
I know he barely played but I liked what I saw from Darius Miles, he had 2 rebs and a score in 3 minutes of playing time or whatever it was.
Bruner had an off game but I am not worried about him at all, he is gonna be really good. I have seen enough out of him the last 3 years at Yale to know that. He had a couple of nice hard hat plays where he dove on the ground ect. Even though he had an off night the effort and the defense was there.
Ellis looked really good on defense, I thought he passed up some easy baskets he should've taken and passed it instead. He will get more comfortable as he goes.
Primo had a solid first game I think, he had a couple of really nice moments where you could see his potential, also had a couple of moments where he looked like a freshman playing his first college game.
What I was most impressed by overall was our defense,it's a night and day difference from last year. Adding Bruner, Rojas and Ellis is gonna help a lot defensively.

Stanford’s first game got canceled. So Monday will be their first game of the season. Hopefully that gives us a little advantage having already played.

Drew Timme is really fricking good. Were we ever serious contenders for him or were we just recruiting him?

Zags starting to pull away. Auburn's got some athleticism that will make them tough.

Barn is very athletic. Just sloppy tho

Don’t you love having a blue collar team! How long have we been pining for just this type of program?
