Hope to have both back next week.

Did they ever release word on his medical condition, or is it still undisclosed?

Motivation through the media. It's a trick he learned from Saban.

That's what i'm telling myself.

Random thought here but wouldn’t it be nice if we had been able to get Butler cleared here. He is a lot better than I thought

If we had kept Butler would we have missed on Kira though?

He definitely wouldn't have enrolled early if we had gotten him.

Going to be VERY interesting to see if this team can compete without Herb. This will be a true testament to coach Oats. If we win this one, we HAVE to keep this man on campus for as long as possible. He’s about to build some super teams with what we have coming in. Eventually, however, we will start losing key pieces every year with these classes, but that’s part of it. That’s why basketball is so hard to maintain success.

It's hard to say for sure I guess, but there was definitely a lot of scuttlebutt around that topic at the time. I never really understood why some people thought they wouldn't have been able to coexist in the same backcourt.

Both are 6'3" which is a little short for an ideal two guard, but I think both of them on the floor at the same time sharing the duties and responsibilities of a college backcourt would have been very successful.

Kira was an All-SEC player and lottery pick. Butler is an All-American, a NPOY candidate and probably a first round NBA draft pick as well. Imo, they would have been a dynamic duo on the offensive side of the ball.

Our medical staff wouldn't clear him though so it doesn't really matter now.

Just pulled up the most recent 2021 NBA mock draft on NBAdraft.net, ESPN and CBS.

The only drafted player from Alabama is Herb. Primo was previously listed and no longer is for 2021 - he is listed as a lottery pick in 2022. Petty is not drafted at this time on any of the mock's I looked at.

NBAdraft.net - Herb 51st

ESPN - Herb 54th

CBS - Herb 50th
