This is from Cecil Hurt:

Alabama head basketball coach Anthony Grant was at Tuesday's Crimson Caravan event in Atlanta and met briefly with media beforehand.

He said that Alabama was "still actively pursuing players" in the late period, although he did not give any specific names. He noted that "a lot,of things happened in the late period," seemingly a reference to coaching changes and the attendant possibility of transfers.

He said he was pleased at the addition of Jeff Garrett, saying Garrett projects a a a "3" in the Alabama system.

Grant also said that the addition of Reggie Withrspoon, the former head coach at Buffalo and someone he has known for "eight or nine years" would pay dividends in all areas, including recruiting.

Looks like he's a 2015 prospect.

Yeah I initially read the 2015 as "6'9 215" and I only caught it when I found myself thinking that he looks like he's about 6'9 145.

You gotta think Witherspoon's connections could really help with this guy.

I completely missed it in the article. I had to do a decent amount of research to find it...

Watched a YouTube video of Montero from 2 years ago, and I have already given up on him. I was watching the video and wondering how in the hell we haven't heard of the guy. Turns out he was a projected 1st round draft pick at the time. Legit PG skills on a 6'7" frame. Reminded me of a quicker Kyle Anderson. This kid has blue blood written all over him. Highlight Video

Goodman said Varidel should be deciding soon and he likes our chances.

"@GoodmanESPN: Chaminade guard Christophe Varidel told ESPN he's headed to Alabama. Averaged 19 points per game last season. Eligible this season for Tide."

@GoodmanESPN: Varidel, who began his career at Florida Gulf Coast, chose Alabama over UCLA. Said he will celebrate decision by going surfing now.

@GoodmanESPN: @AndyGlockner He texted me at 3 a.m. Hawaii time this morning on his way to hike up a mountain. FGCU to Hawaii to Tuscaloosa.

He's a 3 point threat that may play 10 minutes a game Max. Has terrible knees but will help the team and morale.

so really what we have is someone to take up space and give someone a scholarship cuz we have one available and no one of any worth to give it too.
