From Finkelstein:
quote:

While Sina won’t be permitted to speak to college coaches until he receives his release, one school that is already gaining traction is Seton Hall. The Pirates have seen plenty of Sina over the years by virtue of their close proximity and have a need at the position following Monday’s announcement that sophomore point guard Aaron Cosby will transfer.
Also don’t rule out possible reunions with either Northwestern or Alabama. Sina continues to be enamored with Northwestern as a school, as well as the opportunity to lead the Wildcats to an NCAA tournament. Meanwhile, while neither father nor son has ever lost their affinity for Alabama or coach Anthony Grant, despite Sina's decommitment from the Tide.

Greg O also says that his sources tell him the staff has been following his situation, and will probably go after him hard, but they haven't heard if Sina will even be interested again.

Good stuff there. Not sure why you'd go to Seton Hall. They're a terrible program and the coach will be on the hot seat next year. Even though we bitch about Grant, he's not really on the hot seat. We're a much more stable program.

He committed to NW broseph.

I'm not sure he is looking at the stableness of a program at all.

Finally got to see some gametape of Jimmie Taylor. He didn't look as bad on offense as some people have been making him out to be. If his coach puts the 6'10" guy on the block instead of at the FT line on offense, he'd probably score more and do it efficiently. He looked like a decent midrange shooter (only took 2 that game, 1 went in, the other didn't. Both solid form for his size.), but when he got the ball down low, he pretty much either scored, went to the line, or both. The fact he was at the FT line in the offense for the most part, is probably why some people think he passes out too much, because that's the job of a player in the middle of a zone. He was a very good passer for a big man in that game and even threw a full-court outlet pass right on the money. He'll also be a good alley-oop target for Releford depending on how good his hands are (they tried a couple times, but the passes were pitiful).

That was just one game, but it makes me feel a little bit better about him on the offensive end. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when Jimmie rose in most people's rankings wasn't it during the USA Basketball and the skills camps? Then he slid some in AAU and kind of plummeted in HS ball?

As he has requested his release, and will receive it, a number of schools who must address point guard problems will be in touch.

Seton Hall, Alabama, Clemson, Texas A&M, St. John's and others are all possibilities for the former Tide commit.

Look for Sina to build up a big list of schools this week and begin doing his do-dillegence on each before taking official visits. He could stay locally and fill in for Aquille Carr, who will play professionally overseas, or possibly back to the SEC. There are a number of options at this point, but Sina becomes the top wide-open point guard in the senior class.

Yeah I think people were impressed with him during USA camps. After he committed to us, he stopped playing AAU so that could have hurt his rankings.

OK I know that this is kind of out of nowhere but i was just searching video and looked at Josh Langford. I thought the kid would be a little 6 foot guy but he is 6'5 and built like a LB already? He could start for us right now. If we somehow land this kid he could change our program easily.
Here is some video

I'll reserve my comments about him just in case he does end up signing here.

Langford is a beast and is a top 5 player in the class. It'll be a tough pull, but he did go to a great game against UGA and seems to like Grant and some of the players.

As for Sina, I certainly didn't like the way he left, but he was just a kid that got excited and decided too early. Happens a lot. I don't think he was the one that had those "demands" if I remember correctly. I'm pretty sure Grant just told him he wouldn't be going after any true PGs until he arrived. It was just a way of getting him to commit.

Article on scout about Riley Norris just talks about how he likes us, Auburn, and State. Those were the schools he really singled out. I'd like to see him have a good summer and see what scouts say about him before I form a true opinion on him.

Ive seen him play and he is a fundamental guy. I think we need to continue to add guys like him who have size and skill. I wish we knew who really has a offer though. I saw a interview where the SUllivan kid said he had a offer as well and thats a kid I dont want.

Someone on bamamag mentioned a 2013 guy I don't remember hearing us go after named Brian Bridgewater. Did some research and found out he used to be the number 1 ranked overall player in the class as a freshman. He slid because he didn't grow at all apparently and he is a 4. He's listedd at 6'6" 230 pounds, but is a big, strong athletic freak. Some LSU fans think he is more like 6'4" though. This is the most recent article he mentions us in.

I remember the name. For a long time he was talking about Arizona. I don't know if that's the case now.
