I think we get Jajuan Johnson. Not sure where the other scholarship goes if we don't get Martin, maybe Quarterman? I just hope us chasing Quarterman doesn't chase off Johnson. The other day sucked arse, but we still have a good chance to land a very good class this year.

If you haven't ever gotten a look at our Basketball facilities, here's a small tour of some of them. LINK

Elijah Staley is visiting this weekend according to his twitter.

Dan McDonald told me he doesn't think Justin Coleman is a good enough player to play at Bama. I found that interesting.

Since none of the national recruiting guys would confirm that Johnson is visiting this weekend, I decided to ask him and he said he is.

He's still only a Jr...he has plenty of time to develop...And transferring to Wenonah would definitely help his game since they are playing in national tournaments and even got a chance to play against one of my old schools Boys & Girls.

I think there is actually a decent chance he commits to us this weekend if we impress like normal.

From everything I've seen from his twitter, I'd expect Staley is visiting for football. Might be able to play both though.

Man I sure hope so. We gotten bad news the last couple weeks so it'd be nice to be on a positive note heading into the season. Are you an ESPN insider? Is Quarterman going to visit us?

I just saw this on twitter about the kid people are talking about on bamamag:

?@sethbcoleman
Alabama, Florida State and UT-Chattanooga in HB yesterday to visit 2014 7'2" C Isaac Haas

ETA: I asked Dan about him and he said he's not bad, he'll need time to develop. I asked him if he's a high major type player that Alabama would take and he thinks by this time next year, we'd take him. Definitely someone else to keep our eyes on for 2014.

Quarterman said "maybe" with Alabama and GT, after he is done visiting South Carolina the 5th and George Mason the 12th. At least there is a glimpse of hope there.

I don't think we will land Trayvon Reed, so a 7'2" center with a lot of upside sure couldn't hurt. The main problem ESPN has with him is that he isn't aggressive when he gets the ball. The way they described him makes him sound like a stronger Carl Engstrom with great hands.

I could possibly see 6 rebounds, but 6 blocks is kind of a tall order...

I meant 6 points and 6 rebounds

Do you know who Alex Kline was referring to in his tweet?

And I saw that Isaac Haas visited Florida State this past weekend so he's definitely getting high major looks.

LSU just got a commitment from top 50 PF Jordan Mickey. Should help us immensely in our recruitment of Jarrell Martin.

I don't think it helps or hurts us one way or the other. LSU is going to take 6 guys, 4 of which will be bigs I think.

LSU isn't going to stop recruiting a top 15 player, but as of right now PT availability and competition is starting to work in our favor. Mickey is a legit top 50 PF that plays very similar to Jarrell Martin. Johnny O'bryant will still have two years of eligibility left when Martin would arrive on campus. Alabama's competition for PT includes Jacobs and Hale, both of which in the public eye are inferior to the former mentioned LSU players. I think that could and hopefully will change because we really need Jacobs to step up this year. I'm not saying Alabama leads for Martin, but LSU picking up a very similar top PF certainly isn't going to hurt our chances with him.

Hey you could definitely be right, I just don't see it as much of a factor.

In Evan Daniels's visit report, he said both JaJuan Johnson AND Tim Quarterman are making officials this weekend. I think the Quarterman visit must have been last minute begging by our staff
