If that were the bracket, we would have a real chance. Just gotta catch lightning in a bottle.

Hey, maybe we've been playing possum all year waiting for this?

Only thing I'd hope for is for Mizzou to take the 5 spot and let Arkansas slip to the 6th spot. I'd really like our chances against a Noel-less Kentucky or Arkansas. Don't like us going up against Mizzou though.

I agree with that. I want Mizzou on the other side.

Last year I think crede and a few other guys made a bracketology thread each day about who we wanted to win and lose each night. Is it too early for someone to start doing that? Should we wait to see if we beat LSU first?

Yea I did that some last year. I say we wait to see if we beat LSU. Everything will start clearing up after this weekend.

Sounds good to me.

I want to double up MSU at least. I hope we hold them to under 40. I also hope we let Steele rest and get ready for LSU. I'd like to see Pollard and Obasohan get a lot of minutes too.

I saw that LSU's RPI was 103. If we could beat them again and they sneak into the top 100, that'd be huge for our resume.

@CecilHurt
Andrew Steele (ankle) is "still doubtful" for Alabama's Wednesday night game against Mississippi State, per Anthony Grant.

We've cleaned up against the RPI 51-100, those would be two more nice ones to add to that record.

I say we let them score 50 AND double them up.

I know what our record is with Steele but I think that we are more a threat without him. He usually takes minutes away from Cooper which I dont understand.

Depends on if Cooper is having one of those games where he can't miss, or if he is having one where he can't do anything right. Typically, we get option #2 from him.

We won't need Steele vs State. I'll be at the Georgia game to send him out with a bang at home. Love the kid.

His defense at Florida and ole miss (would put him on Henderson from start to finish) would be huge.

I just don't have time to keep up with everybody else this year, but if we start to look like we have a real legit shot somebody should start those threads.

We desperately need to beat LSU. State at home is the first conference game this year I haven't even remotely given a frick about. By that I mean I'm not nervous. As mediocre as we are I can't see us losing this game.

I may have said too much.

Realistically we need to win out, excluding the UF game.

We gotta beat either UF or Ole Miss.

Yea, we can only afford one more loss. If we lose to somebody like LSU, a win at Florida would obviously make up for it. However, since we'll likely get taken to the woodshed in Gainesville, every other game in the regular season is a must win.

@jeffborzello
Mississippi State's Fred Thomas is unlikely to play tonight with a sprained ankle, but suspended Jalen Steele is slated to return.

So are the re-instating Steele so that they'll have five scholarship players available to start?
