I would rather win than lose. Grant's not obliging to that wish.

If Grant wins a national title with his next team does that mean Alabama Basketball is forever doomed to flounder?

I am getting to that point. I just want to see us make a Sweet 16 once every couple of years. That isn't asking much.

I can't believe the losses to Mercer & Tulane. I'm so glad I didn't watch tonight.

Definitely. Because losing to Mercer and Tulane at home bodes well for conference play. The only three teams I would say we are definitely better than at this point are State, Vandy, and Aggy.

Alabama High School basketball sucks. College basketball across the state sucks. It's really that simple.

You kind of have to. It's really sad. If you ask my Dad, AAU destroyed basketball, and I have to agree with him. He knows more about the sport than I can ever hope to know--former college and professional player, won multiple state championships as a coach.

He just started coaching my nephew's youth team. When I ask him how things are going he seems confused. 11 year old kids don't understand concepts me and my brother understood at 6 or 7. Things like how to box out, getting in triple threat position, or how to beat a damn press.

I just think the level of basketball intelligence in this state has gone down remarkably in the last 20 years of so, and you are seeing the results in the high school and college ranks.

And you have to play their style of ball--a style many good coaches cannot stand and only works with extremely athletically gifted players.

frick, let's just raid Europe and have a bunch of 25 year olds from Croatia out there.

I understand posting that after the terrible December, but why after that game? I didn't see much at all to complain about that game, besides the normal SEC officiating.

From what I saw, the team played decently at times. I only saw the last ten minutes of the first half and the first few minuets of the second half, though. It was pretty obvious we had no chance of beating them, though. My problem with that is it's been 4 years. Grant's teams should be beating teams like Mizzou at this point.

Exactly my point. Grant recruited every single person on this team, and he did a terrible job of putting one together. I'm not saying we should be beating Missouri, but we shouldn't have lost all the games we have. It's just pathetic

I can see that. I just thought you might have seen something you didn't like from Grant yesterday since you posted that right after the game. I was pleasantly surprised with how well we played yesterday and it was Grant's best coaching game I had seen this season.

I wouldn't say we had no chance to beat them. We would have won that game if it weren't for Mizzou going absolutely ape-shite from deep. I definitely was hoping for a top 25 quality team by now, but "beating teams like Mizzou", aka top 10 teams, is a little bit of a high expectation.

I have high expectations for all Bama teams. If the focus isn't to succeed, then why even have the program around?
