Is this Gaspard's first winning sec record here? I swear I read that somewhere.

Should have won last night also.
And vs Tenn. ( which is the game I think got us in a funk.)

We need a new manager or at least a new hitting coach.

Yep, his SEC records year by year are as followed:
2010: 15-15
2011: 14-16
2012: 9-21
2013: 14-15
2014: 15-14
That for a five year conference record of 67-81.

We need Norris to go back to being the hitting coach and then we need to hire a real pitching coach. That only happens if Andy Phillips goes somewhere and sadly there's no chance we get rid of him on our own accord.

And yea we've lost 5 SEC games this year despite giving up 2 runs or less. I just used the Arkansas ones as an example. Could've been a much different season (like SEC champs) with a smidge of offensive consistency.

Might be better for us to lose the first game in the SEC tourney and get our pitchers some rest, we are in the dance, a 2 or 3 seed is the same thing in all reality.

They're up two now. Looks like we'll get Kentucky and their big offense against our pieced-together pitching staff Tuesday

Rest is overrated, we need to pick up some wins. We don't want to limp into a regional.

Honestly I've thought the same thing. I want to win every game obviously, but getting this team some rest wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Normally I'd agree that rest is overrated, but we have to get the back end of our rotation straightened out and healthy. For this particular team rest might be good. Plus if we're going to win some games in Hoover that'll mean we throw Turnbull and Kamplain (Wednesday and Thursday) on two days shorter rest than they're used to and I don't know that that's what is best for this team at this point. Not much to play for next week, need to come out of it in as good of shape pitching wise as possible.

But if we are on the side vs UK, even if we win, then we get to face UF & or USCe.

In our pitchers last 4 games we have given up 2-1-9-2 and 1 so our pitching seems to have regained some form and confidence.

Yes, but considering we have a fairly young team, I think gaining some confidence and momentum before the NCAA tournament is more important.
