So, what does that mean? They should pitch more in games to develop?

I think more offseason/fall development.

Arm talent doesn’t really mean much in the SEC. If you cannot locate and if your fastball doesn’t have any movement, it’s just not going to go well for you.

Arkansas threw a reliever against LSU that was a really tall lefty that consistently hit 97-98.

Flat as a pancake and I’m not sure he recorded an out. DVH had to pull him for fan safety in left field.

Anyways, what the poster was saying is very few of our pitchers get much better from the time they are freshmen to the time they are juniors.

Neither quick nor Adams are dominant Friday night starters like you see with other teams. And Quick is a projected first round pick by some outlets.

Two years ago Quick was an absolute walk machine. He had no credible off-speed and he could not locate or even really control his fastball. He had elite velo and that was it. There was a reason that we got him and not Vandy or LSU.

We have won 40 games despite having to give up Friday nights.

Our three starters are pretty dang good. We have some bullpen guys who are good. Most are still projects. There is a reason they are playing for us.

2-0 bottom 1

2 HR given up early by Adams

If we have to go to the pen in the 3rd or 4th inning today, the good news is we will only have to play 7 innings.

And we won’t have to pitch in the 7th.

How bad does it get if we go to the pen in the 1st

Are you insinuating that our bullpen sucks? Asking for a frien…I mean, a freight joker.

Are you insinuating your IQ is above room temp? I have my doubts.

You must be a South Pole elf (or schizophrenic).

One minute you’re defending the bullpen as good, the next minute you’re saying we’re going to get shelled like Fort McHenry. It’s entertaining

Saying our bullpen is not going to be able to hold Florida for 5+ innings without Myers and Oz is just being realistic.

How about this, champ. Until our starters are able to go 5-6 innings consistently, can you please shut the frick up about the bullpen?

They’re asked to record +/-15 of 27 outs every weekend against top 10-20 teams. It’s unrealistic to expect them to do so especially with little to no run support most of the time.

Any of you whistle dicks ever stop to think the production we get from our starters is the problem?

We also just struck out for the 6th time in two innings for the 2nd day in a row

Bullpen sucks though….

An errant throw by their 2nd baseman led to a free run.

We struck out 6 times in two innings, the last two being with two runners on base.

“Good response.”

You have no idea how to watch/evaluate a game.

Both things can be true offense struggling and bullpen is suspect

Talk about misdiagnosing the problem. 2/3 starters have been pretty good all year. Adams had some hiccups, but have you seen other teams?

FL starter went 5 on Thurs giving up 5 ERs…Fay went one out shorter but only gave up 1 ER.

FL starter went 3 2/3 yesterday giving up 2 ERs…Quick went 5.0 giving up 2 ERs.

Starters aren’t the problem, champ.

3 of the 6 Ks were after my post. The error helped, but we were putting the pressure on them before striking out 3 straight times. Try to make sure what you are saying makes sense and is accurate.
