There is still some projection there based on him having another year of high school and his frame. I’d imagine that our staff probably thinks there is a little more in the tank, plus time to improve secondary offerings.

^^ This.

They probably figure he will add velocity with S&C and maybe a tweak or two mechanically ( he can get more out of his lower half than what he is currently .) video is not the greatest either

PG has him reaching 94 two weeks ago, so that's an improvement right there over "max 92". I agree that he has the size and should improve his velocity. Come to think of it, he is only a rising senior. Face palm!

Looking at the video the first time had me bit concerned. The pitches were so vastly different, no signs tunnels. Additional watches indicates these were not sequences but a mashup. Obviously the coaches like something about him and are on him early.

Tick tock tick tock…

The MLB deadline for teams to sign their 2025 draft picks is Monday, July 28th at 5 p.m. ET. This deadline applies to players drafted from four-year colleges and high schools.

No MLB signing announcement that I’ve seen, but a BOL poster noted that Griffin Stieg removed Alabama Baseball from his social media account.

$410K for a 20th rounder? $260K over slot? That's about our luck.

Congrats to Holden. Got paid like a 5th rounder.

Very strange.

Well the good news is that we were able to get Adams and Fay back when both easily could’ve left.

The bad news (or maybe good based on 2025 results) is that besides those two and Heiberger, every other significant piece of the pitching staff has to be replaced. Holden and Stieg both backing out of the class stings a little in that regard, but we do have a lot of options.

Wonder if his injury rehab had anything to do with it or was he good to go ?

Just weird that some of our pitchers transferred to Miami and Clemson(good programs ) and can’t get any action here
