Alabama at 5 makes is perfectly reasonable to justify.

The committee clearly values that about a 3rd of bama's key contributers have been injured, and when they were healthy they were dominant. And a bunch are coming back so it makes sense to assume they can get back to their previous play. Now is that a guarantee? Of course not, but the performative crash out by so many is pretty funny. Also people like to point to UT but they have just a much weaker resume in general and aren't in the same pool. If they were the h2h would matter

I think its justifiable. Bama played State when they had their superstar QB. That was a different caliber team with him. One easily could see how the Georgia game ended and conclude that those two teams were very much even.
The UT loss is hard to justify...but Bama has great wins and basically every team this season has followed a huge game with a letdown. UT and Georgia both lost following Bama game

I think they did it for clickbait. If LSU wins tomorrow, Bama will drop like a rock in the next CFP rankings. If Bama wins, the committee was right
