Sherrell is 7 blocks away from overtaking Bediako’s 67 as the top single season shot blocker in the Oats Era. He’s also got 42% of our blocks this year so he’s doing it largely by himself and shows why that number is in red.

According to SECSports.com, it’s
Florida
Bama
Arkansas
Tennessee

Right now, we're 2nd based on the tiebreaker coming all the way down to Kentucky being ahead of Mizzou and Vandy. We beat Kentucky while Arky and Tenn and lost.

it's all pretty up in the air with tiebreakers that far down the standings (Vandy passing Kentucky would completely flip it, for ex).

Alabama/Tennessee winner would be first in line and loser last in line in case of the same 3way tie at the end of season

Alabama just needs to keep winning and the double bye will take care of itself.

Kind of crazy we were all pretty down on this team for awhile and they are clawing back into the picture.

Just a reminder of how nice it is that the basketball selection committee actually will look at resumes unlike the Polls and football selection committee:

Kansas
20-7 Overall 10-4 Conference
7-6 Q1 record
14-7 Q1+2 record
17 KenPom
18 NET
12 WAB
15 SOR

Alabama
20-7 Overall 10-4 Conference
7-6 Q1 record
14-7 Q1+2 record
19 KenPom
21 NET
10 WAB
10 SOR

I actually think we hit on 3 of the 4 portal signings just circumstances have preventing them from showing their potential.

Taylor Bol Bowen- Injuries. 1 healthy game all season (St John’s) and was outstanding.

Keitenn Bristow- The one game he got major run (Illinois) he was a difference maker and then legit injuries caused him to be in and out of the lineup and then he just quit.(Bitch Move)

Jahlil Bethea- Surgery caused him to fall out of the rotation and he was never able to work his way in. Happened before with Oats. Dom Welch and if Wrightsell didn’t get hurt it probably would have happened with Youngblood too.

Noah Williamson- Miss

Right, I regret using the term miss because the context is deeper.

In practice, we have missed on 3 of the 4 because availability is the most important attribute.

In concept, our evaluation was right on all of them imo. Williamson just simply doesn't have any confidence to perform at this level. He's tall, so if he'd just be confident in being a talentless tall guy and giving his all then we'd probably be able to get the 10 minutes we need from him. However, he got to this level, realized he was back of the bench talent, and it has killed his confidence. Like with others, when I saw his tape I wondered if he'd push Sherrell a little bit. However what we've gotten is a guy who is incredibly timid out there and has no confidence in anything he does.

If anything Chuck pushed Sherril and still is in theory. Williamson is 0 threat to any meaningful minutes minus, take a breather.

We also forget young Collins Onyejiaka who was signed as a project but you can't teach 6'11 265 and he played so very little before a medical condition sidelined him. Big strong and very young we'll never know if he could have helped he surely couldn't have been worse then Williamson.
