I watched the SJ/Duke mainly and that’s the best game I’ve seen so far to me in this tournament. Ppl can say what the want about Petino, but he’s still one of the best basketball coaches in college, maybe top 3 all time. Guy gets maximum effort out his players at every position.

Proud of this team! We actually didn't think a team with Mallette and Wrightsell(thanks for the contributions and guiding us to the Sweet Sixteen) was going to lead us to a championship did we. Kudos to the guys on a great season. We just made some bad decisions on talent this past off-season.

Another really good season. To get over the final hurdle, Nate has to remember post players are important and hire a true college guy who understands how to play collegiate defense. NBA concepts are awesome for offense but just saying play harder on defense is not a strategy.

They accomplished what I thought the ceiling was. So it was a good season. Need to work on roster construction a little.

I'm still a Wimp Sanderson guy. With the emphasis Wimp put on defense. Wimp wins several titles with the talent Oats has had.

just one time it would be nice to see what a bama team at full strength looks like come tourney time. that said i suppose it just makes what oats has been able to do in his time here that much more magical, so all things considered congrats to bama on another successful and fun season. most morons didnt even think there was a chance in this one and yet despite a fantastic michigan team bringing their A+ game it was still interesting. hope they hold their heads up high because its well deserved. rtr

Oats strength is getting the talent, that’s what makes him the best we’ve had. Maybe we’ll see little tweaks to philosophies off of some of these deep run losses and he will take it to the next level.

Same for me. I'd been locked in on this team making the 2nd weekend and only getting to the regional final or final four if they got an incredibly fortuitous bit of chaos in their region.
However, most of this tournament has been chalky and Alabama was never beating any of the 1 seeds due to simple roster mismatch issues. We also had a few 2 and 3 seeds that were going to be tough to beat where our roster stands in March 2026.
We were a 4 that made S16 and got bounced by the only team I think could beat Arizona on their A game. We essentially played every contender this year and the gulf between us and them is substantial.

I love Wimp. One of my favorites, but your statement relies on the offense being what it is under Oats. No way Wimp scores like Oats does. One guy just places emphasis on defense and the other on offense. When Oats teams have great defensive metrics, we could win a natty.
