It’s a systemic disease at this point.

Alabama's defense died on the field against Deshaun Watson in early 2017. Pruitt held the remnants somewhat together for another year.

Maybe Saban just has a weak spot for variations of the same delayed blitz and that's what Golding filled up the white board with?

He did it at the Michigan game

You might know this, did he start helping with play calling on defense after halftime against Michigan? That was a totally different team

Hopefully he'll take it from Golding and give to Strong

Think if Pruitt had felt that way for some reason. The last few seasons may have been a little different.

It was the most genius move possible by a man that wanted nothing more than to diminish Bama. Gave Pruitt that job three years before he was really ready to go.

All in all this is a result of all the programs in the SEC hiring away nothing but Bama coaches in an effort to diminish the franchise, and I'd say they absolutely accomplished their goal. They dragged Bama back to the pack.

Clemson got beat by LSU even more so then Bama did last year.

Think Venables has quite a bit as well to do with Clemson’s success. For reason he doesn’t want to go anywhere else. Think if Pruitt had felt that way for some reason. The last few seasons may have been a little different.

Last season is just part of the issue. We have watched a slow decline on defense since 2016 and this year it is abysmally bad. That’s 4 years trending in the wrong direction with no sign of it getting any better.

Saban took the play calling duties away from Tosh and gave to...Golding.

I love defense and defensive games. This is killing me

The 85 Bears got me hooked on defense and that coincided with Biscuit’s time at Alabama and then Derrick Thomas. Golding hates me and he hates defense.

Points? Probably pretty close, and that's with a long drive that produced 0 pts at the goal line

Yea, I mean I don't love terrible offense, but the good defense vs good offense is the pinnacle.

This Arena Football stuff just isn't enjoyable for me.

Yea, it’s an unpopular opinion for some reason, but I agree with you

I remember when giving up 300 yards in a game made the defense angry. Now it’s just an average half’s worth.
