It’s not on him at this point. Oats has allowed him to play lackadaisical like that. Even last year when he was good on offense his defense was horrible. Understand he’s short but most of his issues are effort related.

I think Philon is efforting but he isn’t playing smart and that’s what impressed me about him early in the year. That shite is gone. Hope he turns the switch back on

It's weird, Sears is also apparently the problem with Cliff getting absolutely dominated inside the entire first half by Mitchell and any other person who decided to step in the paint.

I am obviously not anywhere close to as good as Mark Sears. But I am a 5'10, wide-shouldered guard who played the exact same way he does. We both have to use the width of our shoulders to separate the ball from the defender, but this also means every drive is going to be a tough layup. Our other players are not providing enough space and a second defender keeps rotating in.
Tonight it's even worse than normal though. He can't get a corner unless it's manufactured. He's been unable to get an angle, through his own effort, the entire game.
Philon isnt the answer at point either, he has made multiple atrocious passes tonight. Same with Holloway. I have no idea what the plan should be, honestly. That final lineup we had closed the gap, start them again in the second half.
