Dude go away. So many trolls on here smh.

Ban the troll. Dabo is a great coach. Saban is a great coach. Kirby is a great recruiter, but I get the feeing he's dirty. I won't be shocked to see UGA come under NCAA scrutiny within the next 4-5 years.

Dabo has indeed built a cult like group of coaches there and they are recruiting like crazy... with the competition in the ACC, he is almost guaranteed to be in the playoffs every year for the near future....
At his age, he could well go on a run and be the next great coach in college football. With he and Saban slugging it out every year for the foreseeable future.
Riley and Herman and the odd man in playing for the rights to be #3 each year.

Kirby will have UGA right there with how they are recruiting. We have barely beaten them the last two years. UGA is a far bigger threat than Herman or Riley.

Typical response from a blind man. Ban ban bla bla bla, what a snack cake mentality you are showing! I’m 100% Bama so shove that troll nonsense back where it came from.
There are no clean programs! There are no million/BILLION dollar businesses which aren’t corrupt on some level. However my view is it isn’t actually corrupt in the traditional sense of the word, because so-called cheating and paying players is actually allowed by the powers that be. But it’s kinda like this...if you get caught then you are on your own.
Wake up.

66 you are a troll by the standards of some of these brainwashed clowns here. What you said is absolutely spot on!

So Kirby was clean while under Saban but changed when he got to UGA??! Are you truly that delusional?
It’s a Billion dollar business! Paying players is a fact of life and has been since forever, dude get real.

One of the story lines for '19 will be how Kirby responses to being beaten in the NC game in '17 and losing again to Bama in the SEC in '18 and with the loss of early draft committments (the NC run was fueled by guys who came back to win the NC and did not enter the draft as Jr's)
His current recruiting class is #13s with 7 commits (1 5* and 6 4*s) so with a push he can be right there in the mix at NSD. The bigger piece is what team will show up on the field? Loss of all the WR stars from last year maybe a set back for a few games early but, they do still have a good running game. They basically have the 1st 3 weeks off before hosting ND then a bye before the next game (UTenn) then USCe, UK(homecoming) Bye and then the race to the SEC CG... UF, Mizzou, at Aubarn, aTm, and finishing with the transitioning GaTech. (playing at the Barn and then aTm probably the worse of their schedule)
Mullen could have a surprise awaiting them at the cocktail party, but too early to worry.
At this point in his tenure at Uga, Kirby's record is exactly like former coach MR, and I am sure CKS is not wanting to be another "good man" coach at Uga who is always a good team in the east, just not a great coach at a great program.

I believe Kirby is in high cotton at UGA due to all the talent within the state of Georgia should keep his roster stacked with talent. It is still be seen if Kirby can coach and manage a team when the expectations are do high due to his talented rosters. I am old but I don't buy all that BS that everybody pays for players due to the fact that so many players leave a roster and for so many reasons. These players leaving that may have received some form of pay would turn on you in a NY minute. See Pat Dye for how that works.

When you work for Nick Saban, you do what Nick says. Ask Bo Davis. Kirby is calling his own shots now, and his character will drive how that program is run. Really not hard to understand.

I often see things the same as you but on this topic, well you’re either just being stubborn or unimaginably disconnected from college sports. I am certainly capable of being stubborn but I’m very well connected to Bama’s program and a few others. Honestly 04, you can’t truly believe Kirby is doing things differently.
You do realize Hugh Freeze would be the OC right now if Saban had his way, don’t you? D1 football and basketball are like politics...corrupt to the core but all have the same opportunities to use their resources. So it’s all fair in love, war and D1 ball.

Why is the Auburn fan posting in this thread so much?

We are really lying this hard to ourselves?
We, just like every major program pay players. Some of them get a lot of money, some are getting $100 on the side when they call saying they need help with a bill. Saban cheats, Dabo cheats, Urban cheated, Kirby cheats. It quite frankly is stupid and incredibly naive to think we somehow aren't playing all of these same games. Hell Hugh Freeze was running a damn Pony Express style setup at Ole Miss and Saban was all about having him come be our OC.

Why spend money on facilities then?

I'll answer this question in good faith despite it being a crappy misdirection
You still spend on facilities because, as I pointed out in that quote, you aren't paying every player big money or even consistent money. Having access to great facilities absolutely makes an impact on a recruit and you still need them to want to play at your school. Facilities are maintained and upgraded to keep pace with every other school that also brings extra benefits to the table during recruitment.
Furthermore, the money that goes to players isn't coming out of the Athletic Departments budget. One has nothing to do with the other.

There is a massive difference between guys getting cash handshakes, free meals and clothes from fans or boosters and a system of organized cheating created and funded by coaches and boosters. The former happens at every school, and there’s literally nothing anyone can do about it. In that sense everyone is dirty. However, I do not believe everyone has an organized and structured system of cheating from high level university personnel and boosters. Schools like Ole Miss have to do stuff like that to compete, but programs like Alabama simply don’t have to. I just think there’s a massive difference in organized systematic cheating and guys getting some free stuff and extra cash from over zealous fans, runners from rouge agents, etc. Maybe I’m naive, but I just think the lid would get blown off that story by a disgruntled player if the cheating was that systemic across the board. All it would take is one ticked off player.

Alabama’s starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, is from Hawaii, and grew up a fan of teams in the Pac-12. Alabama’s starting running back, Najee Harris, is from California. Alabama’s star receiver, Jerry Jeudy, is from South Florida. They came to Alabama to win national championships with Nick Saban and then go onto the NFL, and good for them.
It’s not good for the sport, though.
Joseph Goodman of Al.com actually wrote this drivel.

one ticked player or better still one ticked Mother of such a player.
Things are much different now than in the 80's and even the 90's. If these coaches are stupid enough to give these people money then they deserve what they will get.

Would be pretty cool, but how would his situation be any better at Bama?
