This can be a very elite group and I like how they are not all the same type of back!
Agree, from what I can tell
Sanders - All around, Elite Back
K. Robinson - Explosive, get in space back with some thump
McClellan - all around, solid back
Edwards - bruiser, pounding back
That's a really nice mix

With the success we have had at TE recently, it’s shocking we don’t have guys lined up. Strange.

I'd imagine he was paid quite a few shekels if we're being honest

When you have an AD that said its time to play.. a coach who was desperate and about to be fired, and a program that is already on tape paying basketball players.. and a NCAA that can't do shite anymore.. I can think a few very good Rea$on$ to what happened. When your perking players like Xavier Hill..you damn sure will pay for Gilbert.

From OU247

As you see from my updates, you won’t see Jase and OU as a thing. Basically, a source tells me “OU and Jase parted ways.”
Such a crazy turn of events, but we said Bama felt good, it was just the OU side still feeling confident until last 24hrs.

Same thing happened to Gilbert this year that happened to Dean last year. All of the sudden at the last minute he goes to the school that was not really on the radar.
Disappointing. I do like the look of Billingsley from an athletic standpoint, but I think we're going to need more TEs starting next year. I think we are going to see more two TE personnel on the field with the WRs departing.

and now Reggie Grimes isn't signing early with them.. Don't think we will have room for him.. but if we lose a few unexpected.. he might slip back in

We need to let go of Grimes. Bama moved on from him a while back.

It seems it will be Billingsley and Latu next season.

Kid is going to be a player for us.
Should have been playing more early on as all this to complicated play book talk is just talk.
He was/will be more of a pass threat and run after catch.
He also seem not mind being physical when had to.
Would not be as concern about another commit at TE if the other kid committed had not gotten injured .

Im just paraphrasing what the recruiting Gurus are saying today. I personally don't see us going back to him, but stranger things have happened.. It would take us missing on a few. So I hope it doesn't happen.

I think Billingsley will be elite. He needs some size but has the tools. I would be okay with Grimes if he is playing te.

If being pissed at Saivion Smith's lack of effort (amongst others) and Saban taking our all-world QB out of the game with almost 11 and a half minutes left in the 4th quarter makes me a "fair-weather" fan then I guess I am one.

He also is in love with calling me fat, a person he's never seen before and who he could not pick out in a crowd, because months ago in an unrelated post I relayed that I was chubby between 3rd and 6th grades in elementary school.
I enjoy calling you fat because you are fat and it makes you mad.

I don't react to his childish fat jokes because they're inaccurate and don't affect me at all. (It's actually quite funny that he's so desperate to insult me that he insults the appearance of a person whose appearance he does not know - it's both pathetic and hilarious.)
You're damn right it's hilarious. I laugh every time I picture your fat arse chipping away at your keyboard.

However, me calling him out as a fair-weather Alabama fan has him permanently triggered, as he knows it's the truth.
Nah. Everyone here knows I'm not a fair-weather fan.

However, this thread is about recruiting and it should stay that way.
The only truthful thing you said in this essay. Stay fat.

I just watched Jase's film. Really strong Josh Jacobs/Alvin Kamara vibes.
Patience, vision, power, balance, efficient movements, natural pass catcher.
He doesn't have elite top end speed but few RBs do. He isn't going to make 3 guys miss in a phonebooth like a Kenyan Drake, but that's not always a bad thing. He's what I'd call a subtle mover. Very good at making a slight change of direction to avoid that first defender and pickup an extra 5 yards. That's a Jacobs/Kamara hallmark. Really well proportioned athlete for his weight. Starts a lot of runs in a similar way to Le'veon Bell and Kerryon Johnson but not quite to that extreme, again a reminder of Jacobs and Kamara. It's easy to get caught up in the Noel Devine, Reggie bush, Leonard Fournette type highlights but I think this kids game will translate really well.
I have no idea what we pitched him, but I would imagine we sold him on RBBC as opposed to being the bellcow at OU. This kid has a lot of mileage on is legs already, and Jacobs and Drake are great examples of guys coming here and being drafted high partially due to the Pro of having low mileage. Him and Sanders can really be quite the dynamic duo down the road with Roydell being a really solid third option and Edwards potentially carving out a short yardage role. I wouldn't be totally surprised with Edwards build if he were eventually bulked up into an H-back role similar to the one that Jalston Fowler played at bama. I hope Jase does indeed sign with us tomorrow
