You wouldn't believe how nonchalant coaches are after a kid commits somewhere. Typically, they just move on the next one. There are a few exceptions but not usually TEs.

Pandy Fackler is absolutely nothing but a troll. He loves using Alabama ("Bammie") to troll LSU fans, but he most certainly is not a Bama fan. "Bammie" is unique to his posting. He's been banned before under another name. Apparently, whoever let him on here again was asleep at the wheel and didn't bother to look at his posting history. For the time being (until he gets flushed), he should be ignored. In other words,

The best way to run off good posters is to continue to allow shitty trolls to ruin threads or just allow them to say things to try to get a reaction out of folks.

Sean Pendleton is also a troll, regardless of whether he's a Bama fan. He's a typical Debbie Downer style troll. Same old style of negativity from him over and over to get attention and tard up threads.

You are crazy if you think Tim Watts is getting the heads up from the coaching staff on all that's going on in recruiting. I know the staff sometimes uses the media for their own purposes, often misleading, but you need specifics before assuming he is involved in a particular situation.
If a kid is a skillful liar, why blame the staff? But why assume Gilbert did anything wrong, just held his cards close to the vest, and went where he wanted to spend the next 3 or 4 years?

Whoa dude, that troll shite is old. Andrew bone has said all along that TE was a big need. Irv Smith came up huge for us last year and we really liked that kind of TE in arik

Yeah, I asked the same thing about Washington, and then remembered his Instagram post. The one where he announced a top three of UGA, Tenn, and Miami. Only to add that Bama and Penn State were still in it. I suspect that we will continue to recruit Gilbert, but probably focus on other guys.

I'm not blaming the staff. I think Gilbert's handlers lied to them and i think they did it on purpose. I also think gilbert and crew told ogeron they were going to bamboozle alabama.
It's pretty understood alabama has done more than their share of bamboozling lsu over the years and now it's happened to alabama at the hands of lsu. This is a major PR/perception win for them.

It's partly the fanbase's fault, Watt's predictions being considered "the word of god" a majority of the time. He was put on a pedestal and now he got one wrong.
Now even LSU fans believe Watts gets his stuff from Saban. Does that sound like anything with the character profile of Saban would do

Yeah. It has happened before. I can remember Bobby Brown being all Alabama before early signing period. Then, he pushed it off and it was pretty late that we saw the writing on the wall. I feel like we had the same thing last year. A recruit that was all Alabama, only to choose another school.
Heck, I can’t remember countless threads on tigerdroppings about how Nick loves to stage the “commitment ceremonies.” Have the kids pretend to be all one school, only to pull out the Alabama hat. Would it be out of the ordinary for a recruit to do something like that to Alabama, no. Just seems like a stretch.

I used to think it was a stretch too. No shite really but this situation with gilbert, i think points to that.

I don't know what everyone is freaking out about. We haven't signed a 5 star TE since OJ in 2013. Irv Smith was a 3 star. And we have several former 4 star guys like Billingsley on the roster. Seems like Gilbert wants to be more of a receiver anyway.

Since Saban will eventually flip the entirety of LSU's recruiting class it really is a commit to Bama anyway
