Yeah, there was a big thing in this thread a few months ago about Baker being slow, yet he was out there dominating camps.

The bust rate for five stars is actually pretty high. But there are also a lot less of them.

There’s clearly an elite talent you want, but star gazing doesn’t always equate to garnering that elite talent. It’s about signing kids that fit your criteria at every position.

Not winning the lottery really hurts my finances. Imagine if that ticket had the right numbers.

I'm aware, we've had this argument before! Look at Jordan Battle and Dax Hill recently. I think we all take Battle over Dax hill now but that may not have been the case a year ago

His catch radius and routes are great, only a few guys make their money on go routes.

Like Metchie, he's gonna surprise folk...

I get it rankings don't mean anything... but sometimes they do. Why didn't UGA want him? He's gained some bad weight? The weight can be fixed but I was hoping for a guy that can come I was hoping for that instant impact guy! Nothing wrong with that.

Some people, including you, were pretty "meh" when DJ Dale (overweight DT, ranked #410) committed -- wanting a higher-ranked "initial impact" recruit instead. You don't get it -- you're still obsessed with recruiting sites' rankings of players intead of trusting in Saban and his staff.

Compare the three site rankings (that you have too much blind faith in) for Jah-Marien Latham:

4* · #115 player · #09 DT -- ESPN
4* · #647 player · #53 DT -- 247Sports
3* · #____ player · #31 DT -- Rivals
4* · #289 player · #26 DT -- Composite

Saban took Latham's commitment 2 years ago.
Saban & Co. DO NOT CARE about site rankings.

Antonio Alfano no longer listed on Alabama roster.

Still hasn’t officially entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Anybody who thought Dale was meh didn't watch the film. Also we have never seen a star gazed like sean. shite is impressive.

I do clearly get it... It's not always about talent either! Doing things the right way sometimes takes a few years. On a different note have you guys heard the Lincoln Riley to Dallas rumors? Couldn't that change some things for us in recruiting if that happened?

You are implicitly equating talent and star ratings right here dude.

Ok but is Burroughs a spot filler for depth? Does anyone know why UGA told him to move on?

Just asking

Yes there is because if we need a true freshman to be an instant impact that means that true freshman passed a returning player on the roster. So either we missed evaluated a recruit in a previous class or something else happened once they arrived.

Personally I would like to see us never start a freshman, let them develop, and then replace a 2 year starter. just saying if a perfect world
