Sark has been a HC at UW and USC, is a strong national recruiter, knows Bama and the SEC and can learn a ton from Saban (like Kirby did) before he retires. Smooth transition -- keep The Process in place and keep rolling.

Do not want! He can do well as an OC but he, to a certain extent like Kiffin, has proven he can’t handle being The Man.

UW was winless the season before Sark was hired. Sark turned UW's dumpster fire around pretty well and got hired by USC. He might've done better at UW if not for his alcohol addiction, which did him in USC. He hasn't had any problem in that regard for years. Kiffin still has his immaturity problem. I don't recall that ever being a thing with Sark and it certainly isn't now.

Sark was average at Washington. Rather throw the bank at Petersen if we're going there.

Campbell is the prototypical Ohio guy that does big things as hc. It's a hell of lot harder to win at ISU than at Washington or USC. He can get hired by NFL fail and come back when Saban retires. Sounds good to me.

I wouldnt see Mario leaving Oregon.. if he can build them up, they can be a giant with Nike behind them. This new era of football sets them up for being a power house if someone can get that train rolling again. They can have the nicest facilities and I feel this round the school board will get behind them on expanding and building . Too much money in it now

Nah. Mario is a Miami guy and he would've left Oregon if Miami offered enough money. If Mario does well at Oregon he'd jump at the Bama job. And, if memory serves me correctly he's intimated he'd take the Bama job.

Unless Muschamp has a breakthrough similar to Dabo at Clemson he won't even be considered to replace Saban.

I think Sark puts in his time in the Saban Coaching Rehab Clinic and gets another head coaching job on the West Coast. UCLA, Arizona, Cal, etc. There are a lot of places I could see Sark at.

Truth of the matter is that if Saban coaches another 5-6 years, there will be a whole new set of "hot" names at that point and some of the hot names today will have flamed out.

Dabo is intriguing, but he's building his legacy at Clemson, so I doubt that happens. If Pruitt has some success at UT the next few years, that will be interesting to keep an eye on. He's a Bama guy, he's a good defensive mind, he's worked with Saban twice and knows the system and he's a great recruiter. The only thing that remains to be seen is if he can manage a program and get a decent offense going. If he gets that dumpster fire in Knoxville turned around, I could see him being the man. Pruitt vs. Smart could be an epic rivalry for decades if it shakes out that way.

A LOT can happen between now and the time Saban retires that can impact who the legit candidates will be then.

If Sark couldn’t handle the pressure at USC, he need not even inquire about following Saban.

I’ll worry about replacing Saban when the time comes. I really don’t understand why this kind of talk has suddenly ramped up in the last year. Lose one championship game and it’s time to call an end to it? Enjoy him while he’s around. You are feeding the trolls by playing their game. Let them fret and worry when the dynasty ends.

I like Pruitt but I am not sure how he would handle the pressure following Saban. Not sure any can.

Eh, somebody will have to handle it. Heck, I'd be happy to give it a go for 5+ million a year! Fisher followed Bowden at FSU and won a natty. It can be done.

Because it’s offseason on a message board and that’s what people do.. they discuss what if’s and other things to kill the time.

I agree as I think Pruitt is the best choice. Maybe it is me but I like his aggressive style. Kirby I am just not a fan of and not sure Mario could win in this league. Same for Sark.

Since it's fan day, there should be more info than usual in today's practice reports.

ETA: Saban, Sark and Golding will talk to the media today too.

Why did things unravel for Jimbo on the field at FSU?

I know what Sark has done. I wasn’t referencing him being childish because I’ve never heard anything like that.

I don't know anything for certain, but I can make a few guesses, from the outside.
1. It was Jimbo's first head coaching job.
2. His family life fell apart. I think it's pretty common knowledge that he and his wife had issues and got a divorce.
3. I believe he butted heads with the boosters and the people in charge at FSU. I don't think they fulfilled all of the promises that they made towards upgrading facilities.
4. I wouldn't doubt that the team lost respect for Jimbo after J. Winston basically had free reign over the program.

5. Jimbo's offenses at FSU didn't appear to be as strong on the OL as they were at skill positions.
6. Losing Pruitt might've had a big impact too.
