DT McKinnley Jackson
Jackson continues to go everywhere, camp at different schools and keep as many people guessing about his recruitment as possible. But, for a couple of months now, behind the scenes, Ole Miss has been the school I have heard a lot about. Now, after two days in Atlanta, I have heard enough about the Rebels to put a FutureCast in for the in-state school. Sure, Alabama, Florida State and LSU, among others are in play still, and he will take this to February, but Ole Miss is in a great spot.
FutureCast: Ole Miss
I guess we're going all in on the two Louisiana DTs instead of pushing for Jackson.

OG Chris Morris
Morris, a Memphis native, is fresh off an official visit to Tennessee,, and the Vols are being considered. But it is another SEC school that still appears to have the momentum in this race. This one has shifted a time or two this year, but Texas A&M appears to be the clear school to beat as we get ready to close out the month of June. After speaking with a few people that know Morris very well, the Aggies have a new FutureCast from me.
FutureCast: Texas A&M
I figured we would push for him too.

Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge: Peers predict where fellow players will land
quote:
ATLANTA -- It’s our job at Rivals.com to cut through all the noise and zero in on where the nation’s top players will end up playing their college football. Sometimes when it comes to searching for information, the best intel comes from fellow elite prospects.
At this week’s Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge presented by adidas, we surveyed several players about where five elite prospects will eventually land. Here are the results.

quote:
LB Justin Flowe
The pick: Ohio State
Why: “I think he’s going to follow a lot of guys and end up there.” -- Rivals100 running back Bijan Robinson
The pick: USC
Why: “He’s a California guy and I think staying home and playing for the Trojans is the best decision for him. He’s a smart guy, so USC.” -- Rivals100 USC quarterback commit Bryce Young
The pick: Georgia
Why: “We don’t talk that much about our recruitment but he’s brought them up a few times. I think he liked his visit up there too” -- Five-star defensive back Kelee Ringo
The pick: Clemson
Why: “He’s coming to Clemson. I have him locked in.” -- Five-star Clemson defensive line commit Bryan Bresee
The pick: Clemson
Why: “I have just heard everyone in his ear for Clemson.” -- Rivals250 Ohio State quarterback commit Jack Miller
Well that doesn't sound too promising when it comes to flipping Young.

TE Arik Gilbert
The pick: USC
Why: “We’re in his Top Six and I think we can surprise a lot of people and get him.” -- Young
The pick: Alabama
Why: “It fits his style of play.” -- Robinson
The pick: Tennessee
Why: “I feel like he’s going to Tennessee with his quarterback.” -- Ringo
The pick: Alabama
Why: “It’s Alabama. Why wouldn’t he want to go there?” -- Rivals250 Alabama wide receiver commit Javon Baker
The pick: Georgia
Why: “I thought Georgia but I don’t know … we’ll see.” -- Bresee
The pick: Tennessee
Why: “Because his quarterback is going there.” -- Miller

It appears Xzavier Hill was above Chris Morris on Bama's OL board. Speaking of OL, according to a pretty good insider, Jayson Jones needs to buy in to playing OL to remain in Bama's class.
ETA: I've moved Jones to the OL section of this thread's 1st post.

Man it is rough when the numbers are this tight. I so want to hold on to Caden Clark, especially with his brother being recruited over at Ohio State but there is no way to pass up on the exceptional talents of Grimes, Washington, and/or Gilbert.
I want Henderson and Williams at WR but also like the guys we have.
I'd take any of Roy, Guillory, Jackson, Burch and Murphy.
I'd take Banks, Flowe, Sampah, Smalls, Webb and Sewell although out of this group Flowe would be my guy.
This is going to kill me until December. Especially when we start getting the seemingly out of no where Eboigbe like commits and numbers get even tighter or Bama starts flipping guys. Damn Saban and staff always make recruiting interesting.

Arian Smith would also be nice at WR. 6'1" with 10.31 speed in 100m is very intriguing.

My personal preference is Williams and Henderson but both Smith and Boutte if he flips would be great additions.
The most important to me though is holding on to Jones-Bell. I think he is the next great one in Tuscaloosa.

Mike Farrell said recently that we have cooled on him. I'd rather have Jaquelin Roy.

The bidding war has already started with Jackson. Ole Miss won't be beaten or "outbid" for him.

There's been a lot of insider posters' chatter about DLs lately. To sum it up, it sounds like Roy, Guillory, Burch and Murphy are the top targets on Bama's DL board. It also sounds like Bama is the team to beat for Roy, maybe Guillory too, and has a pretty good chance with the other two.
ETA: I've shuffled the order of the DL section of this thread's 1st post accordingly. I try to keep the uncommitted targets in each position group in order of most-to-least likely to end up in the class.

At least by recruiting services standards this is a very weak year for talent out of Mississippi.

Surge, have you seen any chatter on Donell Harris in regards to Bama since he decommitted from UM and reclassified from 2021 to 2020?
Posted on 6/27/19 at 10:58 am to Carlton
Harris said he's aiming to finish HS early and reclassify, but it's not a forgone conclusion that he'll accomplish it. The only thing I've seen lately was a poster on BOL saying he should stay in HS and play for another season so he's more college ready.

Jackson, didn't look that impressive in that recent Rivals OLvsDL video. He is big but he didn't have that big push consistently.

I have been messing around in 247s transfer portal and noticed there are hundreds of kids in there right now with no where to play who won't be on rosters this fall. Kids better be extremely careful and calculating about submitting thier names for the portal moving forward because I believe coaches have the right to pull/reduce your financial aid/cut you once you are officially in. I'm going to be really interested in what this looks like for roster management over the next few years.

They'll play, just not FBS. FCS or Juco for a couple hundred kids.

I'm not sure about that. FCS schools have rosters, recruits and scholarships to manage too. I would assume most of those options are gone. Most of these guys are juniors and seniors and have too many credits to transfer to a JUCO.

My personal preference at Wr is Henderson and then holding onto javon Baker & Jones-Bell.
I also think Henderson is the next must get commitment and the one that's gonna be a serious battle with Fla, Clem, Lsu.
