He's a "game time decision" according to Avery. I've twisted my ankle pretty badly before and couldn't walk on it for 3-4 days. It's some serious pain, but after a few days it goes away. I'm hoping that's all it is

That's great news, but I'm surprised. I sprained the hell out of mine once and I was on crutches for several days and it wasn't full strength for months. The way Petty acted, I thought he was going to be in the same boat.

There's a huge range in degrees of severity when it comes to ankle "sprains". Ligament and/or tendon damages as a result of a sprain can be permanent without surgery resulting in a weak ankle, susceptible to further sprains.

Yeah, I know. But, it just "looked" like it was going to be a bad one. Glad to hear it isn't.

Pretty awesome stretch of Mid-Major home games coming up

5-0 Louisiana Tech (#101 KP)
4-2 UCF (#71 KP)
3-2 Rhode Island (#53 KP)

The 4 losses between UCF and Rhode Island are to West Virginia, St Johns, Virginia and Nevada.

We're up to #24 in the latest AP poll.

Arizona completely fell out. 3 SEC teams in the top 10.

Apparently after Sexton missed the shot when they were up 3 and Minnesota ran the floor for an And-1, Sexton was winded and he walked over to the Minnesota bench and asked Pitino if he wanted to call a TO.

I honestly think come March, that 3 on 5 performance against a top team will be viewed as a positive.

You don't have to wait for March. We lost the game and moved UP in the AP poll.

We also beat UT-A and BYU in between those polls

Sure, but if we'd gotten blown out by Minnesota regardless of the circumstances you can bet we'd have fallen out of the top 25. Nobody wants to lose, but that's as good of a quality loss as you're going to get and IMO the poll reflects it.

I'd be cautious. We heard the same thing about Purifoy last year and he came back weeks ahead of expectations

I'd expect him to play a very limited role for a couple weeks

He was still out for a few weeks. Petty may play in the next game. This is clearly not the same injury.

I just meant that I expect his role/contribution to be limited for a couple weeks compared to non injury Petty

LOL - I don't think there is any situation where Alabama playing at Arizona becomes Alabama being the hunted.

Zone will get things back on track come conference play. It's still critical we get a win there regardless of how their season goes.

Not critical to win there at all... Nobody outside Duke would probably win there right now. Alot to ask , if we had key it would be doable. The experience alone will help our guys. I wanna get the 2 wins this week then take Rhode island and Texas games. That ll build a good starting resume for march

I have to be in Tuscaloosa for a conference on Dec 7-8. Got a hotel downtown for the night of the 7th. Really considering going over on the 6th for the RI game and staying with a friend that night.

People keep talking about the 3 on 5 against Minnesota, I just keep thinking about how awful our inside defense is and what is Avery gonna do to fix it. Because if he doesnt we are gonna get embarrassed by teams with good big men like aTm.

Our guards are better than A&ms, if we rebound well enough and get Transition buckets I'm not sure if their bigs can keep up.
