Is that gonna be on TBS?? Because I just flipped over and they got some damn Kevin Hart/Will Ferrell movie on.

Sexton should be SECT mvp. He beat Auburn all by himself, right after he dismantled TAMU. Even the game vs UK he played pretty well
SGA had a good tournament, but you can't argue that he was more valuable than Sexton

I would've been pissed if they rejected it. You want to give young players as many opportunities to play competitive games as possible. I understand people not wanting to watch us play in the NIT, but it's definitely not something you want to turn down in our situation.

Rejecting NIT bids is stupid. There is no reason not to get the extra practice + game experience vs quality teams. You also give your seniors some extra games
I will say the UGA/LSU fired coach situations change that a bit.

The NIT is a complete waste of time. I've played in pick-up games with more intensity than the NIT. I'm so glad we don't have to worry about that garbage this year.

fans not liking it is irrelevant. If you get invited, play.
Posted on 3/11/18 at 3:34 pm to McGregor
No. Don't play. It's a waste of time. The NIT needs to fold, tbh. The quality of play is absolute garbage and hopefully we don't have to worry about being in the NIT again for a long time.

Scrimmage/exhibition games don't have a lot of intensity yet they are extremely valuable. For a SEC team, the NIT is more valuable for development than NIT results.
Obviously Bama is NCAAT bound but say they were NIT bound, think of the things Bama could work on even in 1 game
- Give Reese more 3FG plays
- Focus on Galin Smith posting up
- Herb Jones more of a point forward and off playmaker
- Work through Petty problems
All those things are areas Bama needs to improve next year to succeed. You won't get a better sandbox to work on them now

This team wouldn't play hard in an NIT game in front of 2,000 people at Coleman. If we had missed the NCAAT, it would have been better to end the season at that moment.

That Avery interview was only on the TBS twitter stream. He basically just talked about the guys on the team, the game winner against A&M, and the SECT run we had. He said the two wins we had proved we can beat anyone in the country

We don't need to focus on posting up Galin Smith. He's not ever gonna be a primary scoring threat. He's worse than Giddens.

Yes for the first time in a long time. The selection show will be on TBS at 5pm CST

far in the final 5 games of conference play, we are 3-9 under Avery. 3 and fricking 9. Heading for 3-10.
It's at 5pm. I was wondering myself because yesterday they were saying 5pm eastern.

JMO but neither CM nor Wimp would allow their players to play loose and tried to keep them playing under control a little too much. Sometime you have to let the big dawgs run.
Are you old enough to have watched Wimps teams? They weren't Nolan Richardson, but they ran a lot.
That 86-87 team I mentioned earlier averaged 80 points a game. The normal year was around 75ppm with only 2 years under 70 - and this was an era where there was no shot clock at all (80-85) or a 45 second clock (85-86 forward).
IMO, he was great at coaching to play a controlled up-tempo game.

Smith was a better post offensive weapon than Giddens was

Smith has pretty nice post moves

Interesting that you can make such a pronouncement about a true freshman. Pretty sure Donta couldn't get out of his own way a couple of years ago.
