I know we should just be happy to be in, but I really do hope we snag a win just so we can break another streak.
Yea I'm definitely not just happy to be in. I want us to get to the 2nd weekend.
I'm not gonna get mad if we don't, but I'm not satisfied as just being there for sure.

So with Sexton leaving next year, is there anyway Butler is the starting PG next year? I really don't want Ingram back at point next year.

You forgot that Sexton is going to take us to the Final Four and return because he wants the ring.
Last I heard is the staff is confident that Butler can come in and start. I definitely don't think it'll be the end of the world if Ingram starts at PG though. I know it doesn't seem like his natural position, but it's hard to deny that he played better there last year than on the wing this year.

Come on Houston, kick Wichita's arse.

Actually just got news that he does intend on going to the NBA after recent news of Steve Kerr joining the Alabama staff as an assistant this offseason. Rumors are he would have preferred Popovich.

Your Lord and savior Junior Johnson is starting bruh

Where's the greatness gonna come from? His handle is poor, he's got no intermediate range shot and his 3 point ranges is very iffy. He's athletic, but not overly quick, and his first step is average...I'm just not seeing it.
He has the potential to be a bigger Trevor Releford. Releford was a terrible shooter his first 2 years, small, not very athletic, but used strength and savvy to get by defenders and was a great finisher. He improved his jump shot, and his entire game opened up. I'm not saying Ingram will be the next Releford (in fact I'd say he won't be), but he certainly has the potential to be a similarly great player.

USC was THE dynasty.
Honestly nuts how quick it went from USC dynasty forever to Bama + USC dumpster fire

have heard several former SEC basketball coaches that think Ingram is a very good player.
Outside perspective here from someone who thinks Ingram is a baby back bitch (off court personality in interview/social media... Maybe a little haircut bias) Ingram is a very good role player/6th man utility guy
If you are relying on Ingram to be an option 1 guy, you're going to have a bad time
If you are relying on Ingram to be an option 2-3 guy and give you rebounding, decent D and mismatches you are doing it right

The "player potential" comparison you want is a more ball handling dominant Mustapha Heron

That's a good one too. If Ingram can develop a jumpshot like Releford did his 3rd year, it'll help his entire game open up.

Sanctions will do that to you. USC could have attracted any HC in the nation too with the facilities and surrounding talent base. Instead they took a risk on Kiffin- who looked like a good hire at the time- and have really not looked back since.
Back to basketball, I'd like a rematch with Creighton to get revenge for this horse shite.
Not that it really matters, because we would have been killed by UNC in the next round, but getting that win would have been big. At the same time, I would not want to play Virginia. Just omitting what they've done this year, we turn the ball over way too much against teams like that. Most of the time it's not even the opposing team doing much, just bad mental errors.

I thank the SEC for that. It's crazy how a balanced league like the Pac10 became USC and the dwarves so quickly during Carroll's romp. The SEC never backed down from Alabama and Saban and it kept us from ever getting too complacent and allowed us to rack up a loss and still be in contention.

Wut?
Anytime I've ever seen or heard him speak he's been soft spoken, humble, and polite.

He did me piss me off when he made those comments about not coming off the bench. He's one of those guys that just looks like he has a shitty demeanor on the court.

They'd be almost a worst case matchup for Bama
They are near impossible to run on. They don't turn the ball iver (#8 TO%) and they effectively abandon Off rebounds to Sprint back on defense. (#51 DReb% vs #212 OReb%)
In the half court, their packline defense specializes against dribble drive penetration + inside passing. It is designed to swallow players like Sexton
Oh and UVA rarely commits fouls. They are #24 in FT/FGA on defense. While some of that is because the low possession #s = no bonus FTs, it is still extremely impressive for an elite D
Virginia is very beatable when a team is hot and makes plays. It's why they never really win IYAM since one NCAAT caliber team in 6 games will be
I just would never ever want to play them and gamble whether I'll be hot

Only happened twice this year.
Is it good that Houston beat Wichita St?

If you ever watch a UVA game, it is very easy to see why they win 30+ almost annually, even against good 3fg schools
That defense is smothering. It is absolutely unreal what they are able to do.

It's always good when Wichita loses.
I like Virginia. They just grind your arse down. Nothing really flashy, just good ball.
