Key always struggles if he has an athletic guy on him that is at least his height
he's not exactly crazy athletic

Hard to be mad over this one. 3rd day playing in a row. Kentucky couldn't miss and we never quit. Would've liked the score a little closer but that's not gonna happen shooting as well as UK did in the second half.
Hopefully Petty has found his shot and that continues into next week. And hopefully Hall is ready to go next week.

Hopefully the committee wasn't watching this game and doesn't look at the final score.
The committee will see that UK shot 89% from 3 in the 2nd half on several attempts. We were missing our 2nd best player and tied for most important player on our team. I think they'll understand

Looking back on it, how insane was it that the line was only 4.5 with no Hall?

That's the thing.
I fully believe Avery can have us back to about where Gottfried had us during his stride. But I don't see any improvement beyond freak hot runs every 4 years or so. I sadly think we'll need another guy if we want to get to that next level.

When the other team is shooting that, it's just not your day. That's unreal. I would have gotten kicked out of the game because I would have fouled the hell out of one of those shooters.

Just once, I wish we ended up on the other side of the bracket and played Arkansas or Tennessee today. We are never going to beat UK in the SECT.

Thing is they are pretty similar to us in that they have hardly any good shooters. But some damn how they've lit it up both times against us. Oh and sexton wouldve had 40 If they called this game fairly down low

I'm not blaming the officials for the loss, but college basketball officiating is TERRIBLE and it seems at its worst when we play UK. Officials seem to really get influenced by the emotion of the game when deciding when to blow their whistles. If a team gets on a run (like UK does a lot) any shot they miss gets called a foul and nothing gets called on the other end. I'm also convinced none of them have heard of a pivot foot or understand you can head fake without traveling.
Anyway, nice to see Petty regaining some confidence. And I think Avery has made this team play too slow during the second half of the season.

let's not melt to bad over this one, although I agree it would have been nice if the score was a bit closer but that doesn't matter
Excited for the selection show tomorrow.

Wenyan Gabriel went Stephen Garcia on us....damn.

Not even that mad about the game. We fought until the very end and Petty got his confidence back. Now we get an extra day of rest before the NCAA tourney and Hall will be back. I’m so excited! BUCKLE UP!

Even with the loss today , I like the way I've seen the last 3 days. There's plenty to be excited about and we can chill with the negatives until we lose. We will have the off-season to bitch and whine.
Not@ you NAL, just hit reply.

100% with you. Officials have zero balls to make the right call. I lost it after the ball was called off UK and Cal basically asked them to change it and they did. That was at least the 3rd time that's happened to us this season. Officials are scared to be hated by top HCs and home crowds.
I've been talking about how bad the traveling call is abused for years now. It's not a travel until the player's pivot foot leaves the hardwood, and yet anytime a player begins to pivot toward the basket and dribble the ball, they call it a travel 100% of the time even if the ball is out of the players hand well before the pivot foot is removed. We'll over half of the travels called in today's game are not travels.

My thoughts on today’s game:
1) The team and coaches were exhausted mentally and physically. Avery looked like hell in pregame interview
2) I can’t wait to be able to watch a college basketball game without the threat of Dick Vitale announcing. He’s washed up, annoying, and sucks off every blue blood program he can get his dentures around.
3) Bama NEVER gets a mediocre to bad performance from UK. When a team shoots 81% and 91% from the three in a half, not much you can do.
4) Petty did some nice things in the 2nd half. We desperately need him to get hot from the arc.
5) Ingram and Key have got to play better, some things never change.
6) Not having Hall in the lineup kills our offensive production.

UTA beat ULL in the semis of the Sun Belt
If Rhode Island and UTA wins their league that'll be 3 mid major opponents that won their league (Lipscomb, UTA, Rhode Island).

Vitale is on SC arguing with Lunardi about who the 1 seeds should be and that any team with a sub .500 conference record shouldn’t get into the tournament.
He flat out said that record is all that matters to him.

UT Arlington going to the championship game. Our resume looking better by the minute. Dickie V trying to say we shouldn't be comfortable was the dumbest thing I've heard today, outside of what's on the rant.
