Well, I don't think it was a great year. I think it was another year we spent all regular season waiting on the inevitable lazy defense, lazy offense 1st or 2nd round loss to a lower seed.
And then that's exactly what happened.
The tournament matters. The regular season only matters in the context of maximising your chance in the tournament.
That's my opinion at least.

Which is why 2005 was a failure, as we're all but 1 of Gottfrieds and every other season over the last 20 years.

I always find it HILARIOUS how the guys who never post about Bama basketball in this thread or social media show up out of nowhere to bash Avery. Yes, we’ve had some bad games and headscratching losses, but we’ve finally broken the streak of missing the NCAA tourney. Be happy, stop complaining, and then next year if we don’t have a better season, then complain.

How you finish is more important than the regular season. Basketball season is a lot like a basketball game. Who gives a shite I'd your up 10 at the half if you play like shite in the second half and lose. These guys just woke up going into overtime. Now they need to finish strong in the NCAAT. I'll be pulling for them tomorrow but I won't stress over a loss.
What's also funny is that Sexton has been bashed because we supposedly leaned on him to heavily. Now that they've actually started doing that the team looks better and it's opening up opportunities for every one else.
And I gotta give Ingram and Key credit today. They busted their arse on the boards.

Reese will need to have another good game against Kentucky.
Am I the only guy who likes Reese over Herb? They bring different things to the table and I like them both. But Reese has serious offensive potential.

Yea. He bit on a pump fake and then flipped over the guy and busted his head pretty good. Looked like he was out for a second or two
