But only after he mishandled the ball and it went out of bounds off his foot for the turnover.

I know we set the bar for this season at making the NCAA Tournament, but I won't exactly be thrilled with falling arse-backwards into the NCAAT and probably getting bounced in the first round.

There's a thread somewhere from VERY early in the season where I said he was our best big man. I hope nobody ever digs it up and quotes me. At some point, I saw a couple good post moves, and I even remember a face up jumper or two. He fooled me for a game or two, then it became evident those weren't the norm. I am ashamed. (Seriously, I hope he gets it together, but he just seems very stiff and unathletic. He might move to tackle).

He damn sure won't make a tight end!...kid can't pick his nose without using both hands.

Well, it looks like Thursday will basically be a play in game. I think if we win we'll make it in. The rest of the bubble sucks and our Q1/Q2 wins will dwarf everyone else's.
In frustrated/mad/angry about everything but I don't care, I want to make the tournament. Hopefully we figure it out.

I wouldn't either, but I just want to get there and see what happens. Stranger things have happened than a team looking miserable the 2 weeks before the tournament and figuring something out.

Do we even get in if we win Thursday?

RPI would be around 50 with a win over A&M and loss to Auburn and we'd have more Q1/Q2 wins than anybody - nobody else would even really be close.
I think we'd probably get in and play in Dayton.

We'd have 10 Q1/Q2 wins (6 Q1 wins) and only 2 games against Q4. Our SOS would be Top 5 in America. Our RPI would be around 50.
We'd be in Dayton IMHO.

LOL - Jerry Palm doesn't even have us in the First Four Out. He has us behind Louisville, Utah and Washington. Check out the numbers above to see how laughable that is.

Yeah, winning Thursday probably gets us in. But how much of that is just because college basketball sucks arse this year and there is parity everywhere beyond the top 5-6 teams? Hell, even Kentucky is sucking this year. In most years we would have played ourselves right out of the conversation, but this year there are no good choices.
I'm torn. I do want us to get in, but not the way we backed in and not if it takes the heat off of Avery for this shitshow he's created. And honestly, Bama basketball has been good enough in the past and should be good enough now that simply making the tourney only to be a feather in some mid-major's cap should be beneath us. That should be considered a rebuilding year and don't let it happen again. I remember how pissed I was when we made it under Grant and got sent packing by Creighton. Or better yet when Bruce Pearl at UW-Milkwaukee made a name for himself by ousting previous year's Elite Eight Alabama team. Our standards should be higher. Making it is not good enough. Making the Sweet Sixteen should be considered a good year. We've done it consistently before and we can do it again. I don't think it's too much to ask with the resources we have athletically to be a top 20 team year in and year out.

Teams like us always make the NCAA Tournament. It's not just this year. This is how the bubble always is, especially with the expansion of the First Four games.
2003 Alabama (17-11)
2006 Alabama (18-12)
2008 Arizona (19-14)
2011 Michigan State (19-14)
2011 Penn State (19-14)
2011 USC (19-14)
2011 Tennessee (19-14)
2012 South Florida (20-13)
2014 NC State (21-13)
2015 Oklahoma State (18-13)
2016 Vanderbilt (19-13)
2017 Kansas State (20-13)
2017 Wake Forest (19-13)
2017 Vanderbilt (19-15)
We'd be 18-15 with a SOS of #3-5 and 10 Q1 wins.

There's still a good team there when they want to be. I don't have much hope they can play like they were playing at the midpoint of the season, but crazier things have happened.
