Herbert's offensive #'s the last 6 games:
5-20 from the field
1-9 from 3
1-5 from the line
6 turnovers
14 rebs

Ingram in last 6:
15-30 from the field
6-15 from 3
8-12 from the line
10 turnovers
18 rebs

not really close

I hope Avery runs rebounding drills today until they throw up.

I love Donta's improvement on the offensive end but he is a pussy on the boards. Giddens is an even bigger one.

Averaging 9 Rebounds per 30 minutes isn't exactly the definition of "pussy on the boards".

I don't honestly care what his rebounding numbers are. He's our center, and we've been getting killed on the glass for three straight games. He's playing hurt, so I'm definitely not gonna say he's a pussy, but he still gets manhandled by strong big men.

If we give up a ton of offensive rebounds to Florida tomorrow, the team should be ashamed.

We'll beat UF. They are not good. They may be the worst 6 seed ever.

Jones hasn't played well in awhile so I'm not sure why he'd be starting over anyone right
Jones only problem is he continues to turn it over. It is bad, but he contributes so much on the defensive side of the ball that it is a wash. If he continues to develop the mid range jumper, work on his rebounding and stop turning it over he's a lottery pick in 2-3 years.

No we won’t, UF may be terrible in the road but we are in the dreaded Avery end of season tailspin that has burst the bubble we’ve sat on for 2 straight years. We’re going for 3 years in a row.

Avery isn’t going anywhere this year regardless of our finish but if we miss out on the NCAA, his seat should be on fire next year. His buyout and the FBI probe will save him this year no matter if we lose out.

Daniel Giddens is a complete bust. No wonder he transferred from Ohio State. Matta probably told him to hit the road. He can’t even fricking catch the ball. How are you supposed to rebound, much less score if you can’t catch? We need to hit the Jucos hard for a big man that can crash the boards and finish. 10-12 points and 8-10 boards a game from down low would elevate this team so much.

This is the same line of thinking as saying Sexton isn't a good scorer because we aren't scoring a lot of points. In the games we've been owned on the boards, the centers aren't the ones getting most of the rebounds. Gafford (Ark) had 7 rebounds (.9 Rebounds over season average), Richards (UK) had 4 (1 under his season average in 4 minutes more than his avg), and UK's backup PF/C Washington (UK) had under his season average as well with 5 (in 1 more minute). Most of the rebounds have come from the wings and 4s. Vanderbilt (UK) had 9, Gabriel (UK) had 7, and all of their guards and wings averaged about 4 rebounds a piece that game.

Hall can't blockout the entire team. If you want to put it on one guy's shoulders it should be Giddens. He's averaged less than a rebound per game in his last 3 games.

We just lost at home to an Arkansas team that wins on the road at a Mark Gottfried clip.

LOL at being confident we'll beat Florida.

I don't know why, but I had a bad feeling against Arkansas. I'm much more confident (about 80%) against Florida. They've been a terrible road team and we matchup with them a lot better.

Can't wait to come back here Tuesday night and look at this dumbass statement with regret.

I ordered an NIT shirt this morning. I'm catching fever early so I don't get let down.

mistaken is right that we probably should be confident. Florida isn't physical at all, they're bad on the road, and we blew them out in their building.

All that said I have zero confidence we beat Florida tomorrow.

Florida shoots pretty bad on the road. We could win seeing them have a similar performance that Rhode Island had against us, but that also means we need to start winning on the boards and stop giving up 2nd chance points. It was beyond infuriating to see one Arkansas player outbound 3 Alabama defenders just sitting on their arse in the paint.

The lack of effort and leadership from Ingram and Key is what chaps my rear-end the most.

Friday or Saturday someone commented that our ups and downs have been on the back of these two's inconsistent play.
You forgot to add Petty, too. (that was me). But my comment regarding Key and Ingram pertained to the fact that they're just not exceptional basketball players. I'll say it again, Key's slow and lazy with a poor basketball IQ, while Ingram is a good-looking, big old athlete....just not an overly good basketball player.
Oh yeah...somebody mentioned Ingram running the point....they'd need a computer to keep up with the turnovers.

Cole Cubelic asked Chris Stewart this morning if there is an effort issue with Bama basketball and Chris poo-pooed the question saying he didn’t believe so, but then in the same breath talked about Bama getting outrebounded in their most recent losses.

REBOUNDING IS EFFORT DRIVEN.

If we are getting outrebounded, we are usually getting outworked, especially by a team like Auburn.

The silver lining here is we will HAVE to refocus on some fundamentals down the stretch that have become glaring issues once again: rebounds and free throws. If we can get it worked out and beat Florida then it may serve us well in the postseason.

Ingram running the point looks like we are trying to get a delay of game penalty. Ingram is a decent player but not at point.

We can say what we will but we are getting our brains beat out on the O boards. It is absolutely killing us the last few games.

I also think Sexton has been seeing what it will be like when he goes to the goal in the nba. If he doesn't shoot the ball better from the outside, they will shove it down his throat. That being said, I would take the money just like he no doubt will.

I'm really not sure what Giddens is doing on a D-1 roster. I can't believe that tOSU missed on him so badly. The guy's literally got NOTHING going for him....seems like a nice kid, but he just can't play basketball.

JMO but you can apply that statement the several members of this team. I keep reading statements about this so called stretch run coming up....we have two games to play so somebody needs to alert Avery about this stretch thing. 30 games played and we're going to get it headed in the right direction for the stretch.

The other thing that bothers me about Ingram/ Key is that they'll make a good move to the basketball, overcommit, and try to dish it back out behind them for a turnover.

Either fricking finish with a floater or make a pass underneath. Those jump turnaround passes back to the key get intercepted constantly. I feel like those two get baited into that a few times a game.

You would think a floater or mid-range jumper would go a long ways for those two players.

Wouldn't that also give Hall more of a chance for rebounds and out backs? The bricked 3s that bounce out to the elbows are what's killing us in rebounding.
